getting into neovim, found all the plugin stuff kinda overwhelming, but realizing that I can do A LOT with just the base stuff. I'm almost completely clueless on why I would ever need a sidebar filetree.
@@joeysung311 it's definitely overwhelming. I felt the same way getting into it. You honestly don't need any plugins but some are nice for different workflows.
Any other NetRW commands I missed? What do you use for your file navigation?

Strange, usually directory can be created by hitting "d", without "j", even :h netrw-d states the same
Kudos from another long time netrw user!
Oh interesting. I'll have to dig more into that and see if I have something weird configured. Thanks for letting me know!
Just hitting "d" works for me too. Not sure where I got "jd" from now... Thanks again for the correction!
@@ascourter Also, "JD" as you wrote in the overlay, "J" will do nothing", and "D" will attempt to delete whatever the cursor is on ...
@@duckmcduck007 yep, that was a mistake. Just use d
Cool video!
Do you know how to setup netrw in nvchad instead of nerdtree? This would be very helpful!
I don't know offhand but will figure this out and share!
@@ascourterI appreciate it
😂 wait, people actually use netrw
Of course! I really like opening the files in a buffer. Oil.nvim is also a cool plugin if you want a blend of NerdTree and NetRW
@@ascourter I think oil.nvim is farther from NerdTree than Netrw
