I'am not a Renault fan but this Clio was a waste. He looks brandnew.
That's what happenes when labor costs are so high that taking it apart and selling for parts earns less money than using an expensive shredder and selling it as a scrap metal. Also road taxes on old cars and people prefering new cars decrease value of old road iron, you can clearly see this in UK where you have a rich society and since cars there are RHD they cannot easily sell them to less wealthy nations and that drives used cars prices ridiculusly low. Cars there are so cheap that it is often feasible to buy RHD car, transport it like 3000 km to eastern Europe, buy a crashed LHD donor, do a labor consuming conversion and sell it with profit!
Tom Kazutara Renault engines are usually crap! Mine suffered a cracked cylinder head.

As often as it has to back up..not enough torque. Its having trouble without even having to take on engine blocks. I would add another 2500hp to that impressive looking beast and sell it as "Never had to back up yet!".

More French cars need to follow that Renault in to the shredder.
A hammermill is the standard for car shredders in most of the world and a small one can process 60 cars per hour. The production rate for a cross cut shredder like the one in the video is not fast enough processing 1000s of cars per day.

What i am wondering is..... Whatever shredded mix of every imaginable metal, plastic, glass and fiber this machine spits out.... what is the next step?....
Why would you not separate the metals from other stuff before shredding / crushing it all ?
How does it get cheaper to do this and then sort out the metals?
I'll answer your question. These are used as a primary shredder, or "pre" shredder in most yards. That being said, notice there is a mag belt carrying the ferrous metals one way, and the non-magnetics (copper/aluminum) and "fluff", or waste (dirt/plastics/glass) off to the side. Again, that is the first step. You then take the magnetic pile and run it through a hammer mill shredder to then further break it down to even smaller (6"-4") pieces and again, run it through a mag belt, and in most cases an Eddy current separator to then separate the non-magnetics from the garbage.
