[bat-MAHN tahn-DEW]
Battement stretched. A battement tendu is the commencing portion and ending portion of a grand battement and is an exercise to force the insteps well outward. The working foot slides from the first or fifth position to the second or fourth position without lifting the toe from the ground. Both knees must be kept straight. When the foot reaches the position pointe tendue, it then returns to the first or fifth position. Battements tendus may also be done with a demi-plié in the first or fifth position. They should be practiced en croix.
Because she has a slight hyperextension of the knee, so her instructor likely encourages her to close to the knee rather than to the heel to keep the leg fully engaged. Some instructors prefer to close to first completely, however, due to their belief that hyperextension during weight-bearing motions puts the dancer at increased risk for knee injury. Not closing completely is unlikely to harm this dancer because her execution is superb. Her training is solid and I think your comment is ignorant.
I was looking for this kind of video. Thank you.
So precious to let her dance for just a brave girl
@Leadman1989 Never it's too late !!! you can do it !!! n__n ballet it's the most beautiful thing in this world
Good 👍👍👍
Beautiful😍
Yes, her education may be 'superb' and yes, it may build strength in the upper thigh but to others, like me it shows laziness in the leg... and by the way, every time she tendu's in second her hip lifts. Please note, she is obviously is very talented and has great technique, but no point in calling me ignorant if I'm right and just putting it harshly...
Quelle pointe de pied ! :o
super ^^
It's funny how posting a video (even if you didn't post it of yourself) is an automatic invitation for corrections.
You have great form!
@Leadman1989 I feel that grace is a very under appreciated quality in men. you want to take ballet, TAKE IT WITH NO REGRET! ;)
good god. nobody's perfect.
for how imperfect it was, i thought she did a good job.
Your lifting your hip every time and aren't "using the floor"
you dont work through your feet at all. you should be going through the ball of the foot every time you tendu, whether tendu-ing out or closing. you cant just simply point your foot or else its doing nothing.
your bending your knee on the working foot as your bring the foot in...
@Nadirahdances You're spelling "you're" incorrectly.
eso no es tendu común??
watch the hips!!!
good i like but try to not move ur hip
ahh my exam is tomorrow :O
And how did you do? I also have an exam tomorrow (8 years later)
I passed all my exams 😋, but tomorrow I have another one. How were your exams ?
@MentalVoxel And how did your exam go?
Isn't this also a degage.
A tendu is *like* a degage, but in a degage the working foot brushes up a few inches off the floor.
tendu the foot doesn't lift off the floor, de'gage' the foot lifts off the floor
@relkitto i agree SOOO much hahaha people are just so funny hahaha
