  • My winter project. This bike had one foot in the grave and now is transformed into a beast, I really like this setup...something different. You can throw a rock and hit a Harley, sometimes its good to be different. I have my 5mm port extensions coming in tomorrow to sync the carbs with the homemade setup just to fine tune everything.

I love this bike, great thing about honda motors is no matter how long they sit...they always start. I just recently aquired a 79 ironhead that I plan on doing something similar to match the shadow. I gave the shadow to my son for his first bike and plan on riding with him this summer.

I just picked up an 83 750 like yours for free. Only 8359 miles on it. It was crashed and went end over end. Messed up the tank, handle bars and controls, headlight and front end plus the back fender and seat assembly was trashed, too. I pulled all the broken stuff off and I have new front end parts to put on. Just cut the rear frame the other day. Got a lot of work ahead of me this spring so I can ride it all summer. Thanks for sharing your project.

Wiring on these bikes are getting old check for bare wires or dry rotting. If you take it apart plan on replacing most of the components..no matter what it is...lol. Engines are rock solid on these bikes with great performance and awesome sound. If you plan on chopping pipes also plan on syncing carburetors. Parts for these bikes are getting scarce, they were not popular bikes to begin with til people started chopping and bobbing them.

All of parts were bought on Ebay. Handlebars are 7/8 drag bars. If really depends on what you want to spend I did not spend over $500 on accessories everything else was cut, weld, and manufacturing my own parts with steel I had lying around. Most of my expense was getting the old bike back in running order, once I took something apart to fix it would only cause another issue. And parts are becoming scarce for this old bike, Honda has discontinued alot of them. Hit me up if you run into an issue.

I hope you have just as much fun building your bike as I did. Check forums and posts about cutting pipes and setting carbs will help a lot.

Wow yours looks great. I have a berry wine 85 750 Stock with 33k runs great. I'm looking at picking up an 83 750 that has electrical issues (starter) and doing what you did.

Fender I just the cut a section out of existing fender and shaped to what I wanted. A good grinder goes a long way use a cutting wheel.

Coil packs are under the tank I would not try and relocate them. If you are referring to under the seat I zip tied them down then cut rubber inner tube and covered electronics and zip tied to tubes.

flat black on tank and fenders and satin gloss over it, the engine I used a heat resistant black spray paint for exhaust and engines, will not burn off.

Nice 👍, what idle needles size did you use? I running the airbox no filter - straight pipes so running lean only on choke to boot .. kinda stumped 🤔 “ originals “ where 40 I’m up to 48 with 3 turns out.

The turn signals you have on that bike are they LEDs. And if so how did you wire them, did you have to use a regulator or anything. I have a 07 Honda shadow spirt and I’m have trouble with LEDs for the back signals they only half light up. I’ve only changed the stock fuse to an LED one. But still having issues.

I envy your build and like most of the other comments on this video I also have a 83 750 Shadow. I was wondering, during your bobbing process did you keep the auxiliary tank, and where did you relocate the IC Ignitors? I could really use your help, thanks.

Did you have trouble with the side stand hitting the tip of the exhaust? If so, what did you do about it? I did pretty much the same thing with my pipes (stock headers with chrome tips welded onto them) and the tip of my side stand doesn't clear. I'm thinking about removing the center stand and relocating the side stand a little further back.

I have one which I love but...it starts up and will run for about 15-20 mins and when the needle reaches the mid range on the tach, it will shut down. I cool it off it starts up and and repeats the same---fan works, thermostat works but it will shut down and start running on one cylinder--Any suggestios as to the problem? Shop has just been bleeding me of money...Could it be electrical? HELP PLEASE

If the carb is running dry you already have the answer. I would bet that your float is bad or not at the right level. Needle valve could also be the issue. Best bet is to get a rebuild kit and start there, sometimes cleaning is just not enough on an old carb. Are you running stock exhaust?

I just bought one like yours for $300! Motor didnt have compression in one head, seems like a nice project, your bike is exactly what im wanting too do. Im on a budget though, how much did your build cost? im hoping it doesnt cost me an arm and a leg. What kind of handlebars are those? There badass! Also what kind of seat is that? Thats what ive seen in some pictures and id like to go that route. Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea how much this setup is going to cost me.

    • @master_moose

I don't know if he's still replying on here, but I did pretty much the same thing on my bike and it's basically just the stock pipes with the mufflers removed and chrome exhaust tips welding in their place. Plus the black heat wrap of course.
The problem on mine is that the side stand doesn't clear the left exhaust tip, so it can't go up all the way right now. I'm going to have to figure out a way to modify it. I noticed that his tips are at a slightly different angle than mine, so maybe he didn't have the same problem. Mine are angle a toward the ground a little more.
