You mean hinges, the metal hinges they glued on. Some people use the straw method, which is pretty genius, some use duct tape inside, it can be painted and shouldn't fall apart.

I’m currently trying to make this and have had to improvise. The measurements in the comments don’t help much and I found them too big for 1:12 scale.
