EASY CELLS! Fluid Art, The FLIP CUP! Acrylic pouring technique with silicone oil!

Here’s an easy cell explosion! The classic FLIP CUP! If you’re looking for CELLS you need this technique in your arsenal! I always get great results and huge cells with this technique!
You need acrylic paint preferably liquitex or high pigmented paint no watered down cheaper paint as those make mud, then you need the floetrol as the pouring medium.
You mix 1 part paint to roughly 4 parts floetrol (all my work gets the same mixture) once you have your colors all mixed up then you can add just a few drops of silicone oil just 2-3 drops per color cup. Then just fold the silicone oil in a few times don’t over mix it. Then you pour you colors into the cup always down the side to prevent mixing, this creates a layer, and choose colors in order of how they will mix like yellow next to orange and then red and so on.
Once you have your cup ready to go turn the canvas upside down and place it over the cup, then flip the whole thing over keeping pressure on the cup and canvas with both hands. Once flipped over make sure the cup is centered on the canvas and lift the cup up and watch the reaction unfold before your eyes! Super cool to see!! Always fun!! This works best on a round canvas to make the tilting easier but square is ok too.
I hope you find this information helpful and if you have any questions please feel free to leave them down in the comments.

I’m so glad that Fiona in Slovenia told her audience to look you up to see your marble technique. I watched your uTube channel and then looked you up on Instagram and was amazed by all your beautiful art. The colors are so bright. Your technique and your channel are so unique even though there are so many channels with people doing fluid art. I really appreciate the lack of needless chatter.

@@BRTurnerART hey I found one in kohl's kitchen dept with the cake decoration items, I think I paid $22, by itself it would only spin 2 or 3 times because it was plastic, so I used a precut wood round from Homedepot, it's 18 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches thick and I centered it and glued it with gorilla glue, and now it spins 6 to 8 times and smooth as glass , if I could I would post a picture of my 1st spin work with it and it only cost me 26 dollars total.
