Claude Dev can work with other models, right?
How well does it work with cheaper models like 4o-mini, or Deepseek Coder v2 (e.g. from OpenRouter)? Does that dramatically lower the quality of the output?

Hi in my testing , the moment you connect these tools to smaller models , the tooling function calling falls apart , and the reasoning becomes notably bad.
Then you switch to sonnet or openAI ...its a dream
one thing to note for me is that deepseek it very very impressive reasoning about code and long outputs completes whole files ..but struggles with tooling...or writing doesent do changes at all ...but thinks it did...(aider , zed etc)
groq is fast and amazing but rate limiting...
gemini does edits calls the functions but struggles with context size limitations.

Claude Dev vs Aider, both using 3.5 sonnet - which wins or both the same ?

I prefer Claude Dev combined with Continue.
