  • April 5, 1981 - The 76ers and Bucks combined for an NBA playoff record 29 blocks during Game 1 of their 1981 Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup. Julius Erving accounted for 6 of those, in addition to pouring in 38 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in leading the 76ers to a 125-122 win.
While much of Erving's offensive production is included in the highlights above, a number of his blocks may be missing, either on account of being unspectacular grazing swipes or occurring during fouls, which the scorekeeper may have possibly included in the game's official block tally (still trying to figure that one out).
The 76ers went on to eliminate the Bucks in seven games before falling to the eventual champion Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
For those wondering, Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers featured 26 blocked shots with Detroit accounting for 19, one short of Philadelphia's tally in '81. Those highlights can be seen here: • 26 Blocks in One Game ...
