      In my opinion, they are greatly connected with Product and Graphic Design. Therefore, they're all simply - Design - aren't they? What exactly is missing about the content?

      @@atheist.christian although they do share common ground , I think a few of points of difference between what u mentioned and UX are: Designing interactions for screens, how to charge for UX (which is slightly different and not as standardized as graphic design for example), Critique for websites, etc..

      @@Mustafa-ux When the problem presented is "I want more sales" when working with an ecommerce platform, what are some questions you can ask or steps you can take to really get down to the real problem? Google Analytics?

    • @Mustafa-ux
      @Mustafa-ux 5 років тому +7

      @@Andrew-er7tz if the client wants to improve the buy flow the you can look at the current way people purchase things on the site. Using analytics can help seeing where people drop off, but also setting up a test to see how many steps there are in the flow.
      For example take a user on a bus, then them they have 4 stops to buy something, and give them a credit card, you can see how quickly (or not) the user gets through the flow. These are two ways to assess and find issues , from there you can start to iterate and improve the flow/design

    Do you need to know the basic programming languages (html,css,javascript) to become a UX Designer? Is it possible to become a UX Designer just knowing the user workflows (research, user empathy personas, designing prototypes etc.) without getting involved in coding? Many thanks!

    • @Mustafa-ux
      @Mustafa-ux 5 років тому +2

      you dont need to learn how to code, that can help but it isnt apart of designing UX experiences. But making stuff you can test with helps understand the experience, so learning a prototyping tool is key.

    • @rafaelpayumo9066

      In my part, I don't know how to code javascript/jquery and I do animation transition in the website then I asked it to the developer about the animation. How am I able to help him if in the first place I don't have knowledge how much filr size it will consume just to do the animation since UX also consider the speed and good performance of the website? So most of the companies would like to hire designers who have background with these type of genre and I'm not sure if I could land a job for this field or not.

    • @Mustafa-ux
      @Mustafa-ux 5 років тому +4

      @@rafaelpayumo9066 Learning to code helps but isn't necessary, I think there are a few questions here so let me pull them each apart.
      Designing for speed is hard on the web, you have to pick and choose where you add animation as it is expensive performance wise, but you can still add delight. I say pick a couple of things and really push for them.
      For tools, principle is a great ux tool that helps you mock up motion really easily. I would recommend designers who want to design motion to use it, after effects is another tool but is very time consuming but you can mock up really detailed motion design with it.
      As for jobs, so long as you have a steady set of skills you will be fine, some companies want everything, but be cautious with those jobs, a bad sign from a company that they under value the skill is when they expect one person to have lots and lots.
      Coding is different to UX design, which is different to user research which is different to visual design. They are all interconnected but different disciplines in their own right.
