    Benzoin retinoid essential oil is sold at Newdirections aromatics. 3.3oz cost $4.43. Cardamom essential oil is expensive.

    I always enjoy your videos. This looks to be a very good recipe. I recently, accidentally, found out that coconut oil dries my skin badly. So, I'm on the lookout for recipes that do not include coconut oil.

    Awesome vegan lip formulation Marie! I'll have to try it. Oily is the problem I have with most of my vegan lip formulations too. That lip feel is so important. Making glycerites today thanks to our little meet up--- goji berry, fig, mango and banana. Oh baby this is going to hopefully open up some new formulating fun. They seem to be used culinarily a lot for cooking so natural flavorings maybe?? We'll see! I love your washi tape tracking method! I think I might need to start collecting these. I already have half a dozen that were given to me so now I know what to do with it. 🌷Jen (the hydrosol girl from Victoria).

      Thanks, Jen! Your glycerite experiements sound so exciting and decadent-I can't wait to hear how they turn out :D I am still trying to dream up something worthy of your amazing lavender hydrosol-SWOON. So far huffing it out of the bottle is working LOL.

    But what is benzoin resinoid? It might be lost in translation 🤷

      By the way, i really really wanted to ask you about something, but i was not sure if you woul reply. I remember when I started watching your videos (February 2018), but I dont remember when I didn't watch your videos or missed any of your new posts. Because of your work, I got more confident in deciding to work on my own company. I watched all your videos for more than 2-3 times (each video), I learned so much compared to a year ago, I feel more brave to when I explain something related to cosmetics to people and I got more confident in me in general because of your channel and your blog (YOU). I really wanted to thank you for that. Thank you for providing thiz EXPENSIVE Knowledge for free. I am a student, doing part time and also working on my startup about Handmade-Organic Cosmetics, and I wanted to ask what other sources I need to go into to learn more about this industry, mostly making part. Would you suggest to save money to take Formula Botanica courses, or I can find some free resources to work on my startup? As I said I am a student, and I don't want to and I can't just waste my time and especially money. What would you suggest me to do? It is an urgent case, because my startup is not just an idea, it's a job that i really want to do and I have a team of r people in it, so I don't want to let them down or disappoint them. I’ve read 33% of people can have a sensitivity of vitamin E. After researching I found lots of ingredients can cause allergies commonly for people. It’s hard to find any ingredients that arent. Do you know of any more useful ingredients?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  4 роки тому

      That sounds unlikely-I would question your source for that claim. As for allergens, well... people can react to practically anything, especially if you are specifically googling around for it. Give this a read: www.humblebeeandme.com/faqs/why-dont-you-list-potential-allergens-on-recipes/. If I was looking to avoid ingredients that people can commonly react to I would avoid nut oils and all essential oils and fragrance oils.

    Can I just leave the essential oils out of the recipe and it turn out fine without altering the amount of other ingredients? I'm not into fragrance...so I'm not going to be adding essential oils to mine.

    • @barbstaffcomment870
      @barbstaffcomment870 5 років тому

      Hello Eliza!
      Of course! There is no need to add in the essential oils if you don't want them in there! You can leave them out without altering the formula too much. However; to be a true formulator, I would strongly suggest replacing the essential oils with the sweet almond oil.

    Hi Marie. Thank you for all you do. I really love all your products. My question is as follow. Would using a Lip Balm already made mix (bought at Hobby Lobby) and mixing the cool down phase ingredients be okay? Not only for this but for all lip balms. I am always missing some ingredients. I know it will be quite different but it doesn't hurt to try and the lip balm mix is so handy. It's premade and all I need to add are the flavors and scents. The Tacuma butter is so expensive and the cocoa butter has a scent.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  5 років тому

      I'd assume that's how a lip balm base would be designed-the sort of thing you can add essential oils, colours, etc. to? I haven't used one, and I'd recommend referring to the instructions that should accompany the base, but I'd assume that's how it should work?

    Stearic acid: Yes, stearic acid is an animal by-product. It is derived from animal fats and oils. So it’s an animal by product not vegan.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  Рік тому +4

      Hi! While stearic acid CAN come from animal fats, but it is MUCH cheaper to get it from vegan sources like palm and coconut; I have never seen animal derived stearic acid for sale. Always double check with your supplier, but you can be very confident that vegan stearic acid both exists and is far more popular than animal derived stearic acid (purely due to cost issues-so you don't have to hope your supplier is vegan-minded, you can just count on them choosing the cheapest option!).
