Did you see them sprint to Daddy in heels 👠. And then chug to him like glue. That’s a very good Daddy. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Thanks for sharing some good news today.

Dam. The 4 who disliked this video doesn't have kids. It's obvious. Maybe that's the reason The Lord hasn't given them any.

Why americans always over react to soldiers? Nothing special about this at all.

These scenes are in direct contrast to my experiences after leaving the Royal Navy after a 12-year stint during which I spent 3 periods each longer than a year on a foreign station two postings of which sent me into harm's way. I am faintly amused by the fuss made by our American friends in relation to nothing that I consider out of the ordinary but recognise that different strokes for different folks applies. What I take from these video snippets is the love and affection that Americans shower on family members missing from their midst and that they should be encouraged to act out their emotions and that such displays of released affection are understandable. That that is contrary to UK practice should not be the subject of muted derision.
Many a returning UK serviceman would be greeted with "Oh, you made it then," followed shortly after with "When are you going back?" I am not jealous and to be fair such a reception as afforded somebody who has done nothing more laudable than refuel an aircraft or issued items from the stores would embarrass me. Nobody should maybe do other than celebrate the actions of those who have been at the pointed end who have displayed fortitude and bravery rather than merely endured a measure of discomfort.
I take heart from the joy on people's faces at the safe return of their loved one particularly the joy of the children. Carry on USA and thank you for sharing your family events with us.
