I'm a Senior .NET Developer and have recently been looking into Laravel for a smaller personal project and this is a very fair and well-rounded assessment imo. The only comment I'd add is that you mentioned Eloquent a couple of times but didn't mention EF Core by way of comparison. I like Laravel though - it's a good solution in the right context.
Thank you! Sure, I should have perhaps mentioned EF Core and compared it to Eloquent. I like Laravel and PHP :) Its a great web framework for mid sized and small web solutions I think.
You are comparing two different things C# is statically typed and compiled language and PHP is an interpreted, dynamically typed language. Your video is good but maybe you could compare C# and Java it will me mere fair.
Sure, I understand - they are different in many ways. I've published videos of C# vs Java on this channel :) These videos aren't intended to go deep into the technologies but are just superficial overviews.
I realized that you are using a Mac. Do you think that working on .NET projects is rational and possible with a Mac? I'm interested in Macs and I like to switch to a Macbook ultimately. How do you manage this problem of lack of Visual Studio IDE on the Mac ecosystem?
For more complex projects it's probably better to use Visual Studio on a Windows Platform but you can use Visual Studio Code to create your .NET apps (I often use Visual Studio Code) - it just means you won't have some of the luxuries that you get with Visual Studio :) Actually your question is a great topic for a future video!
@cyruszl I haven't yet tried Rider from Jetbrains but I've read some great things about it! It sounds like Rider would be a great option for Mac platforms, I'll definitely give it a try and perhaps make a video about the experience. Thanks!
I know a lot of people don't like PHP - but it's a simply language and is easy to learn. It's also an easy language to use for creating small to mid-sized web apps. Of course you'll get much better performance using C# or Java. :)

you can force PHP to be more strict with certain things, and the new version introduces even more ability to be strict

@@GavinLon Thanks. Have you ever tried Rider from Jetbrains? Is it comparable to Visual Studio IDE?
@@GavinLon Do you think that an IDE like Jetbrains Rider on mac is a comparable alternative to Visual Studio IDE?

@@GavinLon Thank you, Gavin. That's great.
Conclusion: As both are great, learn both and multiply your job opportunies ✌️
Well I think that is a great attitude! :)
Could do comparison between .NET and KOTLIN MULTIPLATFORM
What to compare? It's php 🗑

you're just jealous PHP has a better logo
Also one could argue C# is a clone of java, if you want to be a hater
@SXsoft99 Sure, the logo is very helpful in programming... it's not all about a language it's about the runtime too.
