Loved this video. It's generally basic for most creditted Medical Schools (with minor differences in courses, hours, etc.) but I've taken a lot of info from this. I've been waking up since 5-6 a.m. for the past 9 years of my life for school. Two years I've had all nighters for exams. I'm not saying I'm 100% prepared, but I feel it won't hit me like a freight train when I have to do it again.
15:10 - 20:06 1) What are the examples of the distractions? Does it sound familiar to you? (give your own example) 2) What is retention? (give a definition) 3) What ways do you use to retain information? (give 1-2 examples) 4) What tip do you find most useful? Why?
"Major reason 4 Roman's decline after 6 centuries world domination was replacement of stone aqueducts with lead pipes 4 transport & supply of drinking water. Roman engineers, best in the world, turned fellow citizens into neurological cripples. Today our own "best & brightest" with best intentions, achieve same end through childhood vaccination programs yielding modern scourges of hyperactivity, learning disabilities, autism, appetite disorders & impulsive violence"- Harris L Coulter, Ph.D.
This talk is excellent... however it kind of pissed me off when, as he was mentioning other professions to help people besides being a doctor... he mentioned all that but failed to mention the most important of all: scientists

AMAZING, THANK YOU!
senior in HS deciding on med..This makes me want to reconsider lol
The best way to get a to-be med student to do something is to say that you can't do it!
Really,really,really,really hard.
