Worked as a lighting tech with him at club Charades in Orange when Tee Scott was still mixin. It was Timmy, Merlin Bob, John Driver and Tony Humphries that I emulated when riding a mix . It's a lost art now but back then you knew who the real DJ's were these guys would mix stuff out of thin air I remember once when Tee had a birthday party at Zanzibar and he looked at us and said "I'm going to make all you Dance" That was the night i knew i wanted to be a DJ...DJ Bear Live House Mixes
Just because you have you own CDJ’s don’t make you a DJ you evidently lack the knowledge of roots to understand that deeper groove. Most DJ’s today use beat match does that make you a DJ “captain wax” NO knowing how to ride that groove comes by wisdom or gift. I'm from Queens NY and I use to party,dance,and listen to some of the BEST dj's in the world and I use to go to Zanzibar just to experience the incredible music that all the dj's you mentioned played there. I remember when WBLS in NY use to feature all those dj's on their after hour dance parties and Frankie Crocker revolutionized radio when he brought all those dj's on the air to mix live. Good times that the new generation just doesn't understand.

I from New York and the paradise garage was where I grew up. House heads tend to be the most musically diverse people I know. We listened to it all and if it had a bangin beat we took it out on that dance floor. When 50/60 year old people hear that sound......it's on.

I was in Prague in September and a local asked where I was from. Told him NYC. He said I was so lucky to live here with all the house music. I said "what?? I've always wanted to come to Prague for house. I can always hit up someplace in NYC to dance". We agreed both places are dope. I saw Timmy last weekend in BK at Public Records because it was after hours and we needed a house fix. I was in heaven. Long story short...you are absolutely right. Us east coast folks have been blessed with a lifetime (in my case) of dope, body moving, soul speaking, loving life music right at our doorstep!
JOHN PETTY I appreciate the NYC House Jocks. But House was just as big in Chicago as it was in NYC. We bled House back in the 70s (Disco) and 80s (Chicago House). There are tons of legendary Chicago House jocks. Type on the Chosen Few DJs picnic in UA-cam. But I love Timmy and some of the other NYC jocks.

@@renzocalot of the people at the chosen few picnic are old school too and they still appreciate the music..most of these people could care less if house music was played..I can appreciate the few people that are dancing but if you look at moments when the cameraman takes picts/videotape the people, ITS awful how they're not appreciating the music. We have older people and some younger people and I can tell you now that Justin Timberlake is not played..jusy look at different clips online at the chosen few picnics and you will see how we and people who come from different states, appreciate the djs and that's why the chosen few picnic has been around as long as it has been. Most of the people gave no appreciation for Regisford skills as a Dj and when your partying/picnic allow the Dj to know you appreciate his music, and that's not what happened from the clips shown here...but thanks for your response..

You can see from the beginning he had a hard time hearing the monitors. They were too far away, a sound man error. Now trying to mix simultaneously with 3 or 4 decks takes a lot of practice. If you’re not good at it, it becomes a suicide mission. I’m not a big fan of Sync mode but he should use it if he wants to be creative on the fly playing multiple decks. Hey that’s what it was meant to be used for. We all know he can mix live but if this knocks him out the park who’s gonna hate but a few Djs peeking over his shoulder. Playing with CDs ain’t gonna send him down that road.
You know, Newark doesn't seem all that far from NYC, but yet....the Ft Greene and Newark crowds could not be any more different. The Newark crowd looks 'country' in comparison. Just sayin'.... ;-)

I was in Prague in September and a local asked where I was from. Told him NYC. He said I was so lucky to live here with all the house music. I said "what?? I've always wanted to come to Prague for house. I can always hit up someplace in NYC to dance". We agreed both places are dope. I saw Timmy last weekend in BK at Public Records because it was after hours and we needed a house fix. I was in heaven. Long story short...you are absolutely right. Us east coast folks have been blessed with a lifetime (in my case) of dope, body moving, soul speaking, loving life music right at our doorstep!
JOHN PETTY I appreciate the NYC House Jocks. But House was just as big in Chicago as it was in NYC. We bled House back in the 70s (Disco) and 80s (Chicago House). There are tons of legendary Chicago House jocks. Type on the Chosen Few DJs picnic in UA-cam. But I love Timmy and some of the other NYC jocks.

I'm a DJ myself. I go by the name DJ Macho Man and I wish I knew the name of the first song Timmy Regisford dtarted off with in the Lincoln Park Festival. I learned how to DJ mixing the same songs the DJs at Zanzibar played and eventually got my own style.
I have been trying to figure out the name of the song @ 41:21 it is bumping. Timmy started to bring it in at 41:21 it is mixed with Fable..Timmy is the man. Love the music.

The crowd are old skool House Heads. Meaning they old skool 50+ years old House Heads. So don't expect James Brown / Justin Timberlake moves on the dancefloor :)
@@renzocalot of the people at the chosen few picnic are old school too and they still appreciate the music..most of these people could care less if house music was played..I can appreciate the few people that are dancing but if you look at moments when the cameraman takes picts/videotape the people, ITS awful how they're not appreciating the music. We have older people and some younger people and I can tell you now that Justin Timberlake is not played..jusy look at different clips online at the chosen few picnics and you will see how we and people who come from different states, appreciate the djs and that's why the chosen few picnic has been around as long as it has been. Most of the people gave no appreciation for Regisford skills as a Dj and when your partying/picnic allow the Dj to know you appreciate his music, and that's not what happened from the clips shown here...but thanks for your response..
@@liltee8255 I hear you. My original reply was meant to be more satire than anything else. Trust me I know the feeling and I've seen it online; people not appreciating the DJ. Especially when he's putting it down as Timmy is in this video. Personally, when I'm on the dance floor and the people around me are lame, I make it my life's mission to dance my ass off so as to inspire others to do the same and to show my appreciation to the DJ.

You can see from the beginning he had a hard time hearing the monitors. They were too far away, a sound man error. Now trying to mix simultaneously with 3 or 4 decks takes a lot of practice. If you’re not good at it, it becomes a suicide mission. I’m not a big fan of Sync mode but he should use it if he wants to be creative on the fly playing multiple decks. Hey that’s what it was meant to be used for. We all know he can mix live but if this knocks him out the park who’s gonna hate but a few Djs peeking over his shoulder. Playing with CDs ain’t gonna send him down that road.
