Maybe- but Minerva was a goddess of wisdom too, the Roman version of Athena, and might be open to a wide range of requests, even from unbelievers in her. One never knows.

I love visiting the Baths. People worshipped the sacred waters, and asked for healing from the goddess Sulis for many years before the Romans dedicated it to Minerva. If you visit on a misty day, as soon as it opens, it's so atmospheric by the water

They didn't worship the bathwater, they worshipped Minerva (a Roman Goddess) who they syncretised with the Celtic godddes called Sulis, whose spirit they thought resided in the thermal springs under the city which supply the baths.

@@Charlzton where did I say the Romans worshipped the waters? If you read my comment correctly, I said my Celtic ancestors worshipped the sacred waters, in the name of Sulis.....

By Minerva that's one of my dream destinations! Growing up on Asterix and Obelix comics, I always wanted to know, see and experience everything Roman afterwards. From Carthage to the Hadrian wall and everything in between. The chariots, the fortified camps, the amphora, the orgies, the campaigns on all continents, the emperors, the SPQR Standard, Pax Romana, The Rubicon crossing, Romulus and Remus... et cetera. Everything about the Roman empire and time (era) is very exciting to me. The impact Rome left on this planet is still felt today. This empire is very fascinating and mind boggling if one put some time into getting to know it. Pardon my rant. Rome does this to me.

Pool, baths, health club, spa, sporting facilities, gym, community centre, social club for all classes. A whole set of functions that are still in existence today, just not always in the same complex at the same time or looming quite as large in the culture as the baths did for Romans. Look at a map of ruins of imperial Rome and see how many baths complexes were built by emperors as both public benefactions and personal monuments- fully as popular a public works project as a market or a forum or a public office. A very big deal to Romans. One of my favorite cultural events of the last 30+ years, the original Three Tenors concert in 1990, took place in the ruins of the once vast Baths of Caracalla.

Can't go to Bath and not see the Baths. They're totally the namesake attraction. Besides, how can Baths be "dry"? Yuk yuk yuk. 😊😊A little Christmas Eve humour from here in Ottawa.

When you said Roman bathouse I was expecting something more than a museum lol. In Turkey the roman bathouse culture has been kept alive for 2000 years and even many hamams are actually just left from the Romans themselves and are in active use. I was expecting an actually bathable bathouse in bath.

There's at least one old bath in Bath still in use- the Cross Bath, nearby, though it's not old the way these ones are old. These ancient baths were only finally taken out of everyday service in the 70s or 80s, when something toxic was discovered in some particular layer of the water springs that fed them, and which did not affect other springs like the one feeding Cross Bath. So they closed the Roman Baths to actual bathing after nearly 2000 years of service, but Cross Bath remains, plus in the 2000s they built some sort of modern replacement facility as well. I don't claim it compares to Turkish bath culture, but it is a sort of continuous tradition of Roman to modern Britain.

It would be unseasoned, it's literally prawns and mayonnaise. I guess she likes salt and pepper on hers 🤷‍♀️. It's not like she's made similar comments about all of the British foods she's tried, she's allowed to not be impressed by one thing.
