So far hooked it to power and see motors are tired. Tape rolls off etc. heard some words though. Have taken case off and it looks relatively clean inside. Motors are hard to get to. It looks like a good deal of work.
my Teac a3340s 4Ch machine has bad recording head (muffled/distorted sound)on channel 1@2 . Would it be worth it to get an expensive brand new head (about $150) or try to look for a used one in good condition?
Thomas I have a RT-707 that I just acquired and it works great for playing tape in both directions but I can't seem to get it to record. I've downloaded the user and service manual but I'm wondering if it could be something as simple as the head being dirty and what might be the best thing to check first? Thanks!
Yes clean the heads and tape path with 99 per cent denatured alcohol and demagnetize. Check record head wear and gap. Put signal in and with at least 20 MHz scope check for signal at record head terminals in record mode.
Using a utility knife and Dremel tool to clean brake parts? Using the Dremel on the motor shafts? That's insane. This guy was supposed to be a professional? No way would this guy work on my decks.
Oh we miss you Thomas. Rip Brother.
Did he pass away???😮

Are you doing new repairs, I have a Pioneer RT-707 needs service and repair. Please let me know. Thanks Norm Shifferd
Nice silent movie, would have been better with some dialogue on what he was doing. razor blades and Dremmel?

Can you help me? One of the small black tape wheels on my 707 won’t turn. Do you know what might be wrong?
One is just for show. It's not a dual capstan player
if anyone reading this bought the DVD set let me know, I'd love to have a copy
I about had a heart attack at 3:56.
Thomas Died of a Heart Attack a few years ago
@@ethan1970RIP Thomas.
Apparently Thomas has since passed away.

I would never open up the motor and polish the shaft.
How would you fix the problem in this video? dEaMCZLd-3U
