He got the info through shady backchannels and was 100% going to leak it regardless of what JJ's / Texans nameless "PR Guy" had to say about it. Every year in sports, after the playoffs, there’s a bunch of reports of serious injuries and surgeries needed etc.
These are reported to make the fans appreciate the toughness of the players playing through injuries. The teams already have all the medical info, so it isn’t going to affect contracts. Glazer got clearance from jj’s rep.

We can be upset with the ethics of insider reporters and anonymous sources, but the reality is that they are the life blood of the things that fans need for certain activities involving the sport. If you play fantasy football or bet, the insider information is absolutely necessary to make informed decisions. Be upset with the process and the people involved with it, but don't complain when you lack player availability information for players on your fantasy football team or the team you have $50 on at -.2.5.

I had it for the last several years but didn't really know for sure until a year ago. Tried meds, shocking it, and finally ablation. I have been in normal rhythm for 2 months now. Years ago I had an incident where my heart went out of rhythm just from running and I felt like I couldn't breath or ever catch my breath and my heart was beating crazy. Luckily that time after several hours in the hospital the meds kicked in and it went back to normal. Not sure why this second time around I didn't really notice it much so it stuck around for several years before I got treatment.

That's only for healthcare workers who are unable to disclose your personal medical info to another doctor, nurse, specialist, surgeon, etc. Doesn't apply to situations out of hospital/medical professional settings. Trust me. I've got my life taken from me when I got life alteringly sick at just age 15 and have been dealing with EXTREMELY rare complex incurable and intractable pain disorders and health problems that span over a dozen fields and subspecialty fields of medicine for 18 yeats now, and been to all the top ranked hospitals in the country like Johns-Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute where they did experimental testing, Mayo Clinic 3x, Cleveland Clinic 2x, University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute 2x where I saw the specialist who invented serum tears, University of Utah Moran Eye Institute, Northwestern University Hospital, Rush University Hospital, University of Chicago Hospital, University of Wisconsin, Froedtert College of Medicine and Hospital among many others and phone consultations with specialists at places like Emory and Baylor or the world renound expert who literally wrote the book on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (and supposedly Fibromyalgia which he didn't help) who was in Hawaii as well as over 600+ doctors, specialists, and actual scientists and whom are pioneers in their fields to no avail.
A-fib isn't that big of a deal. I've had it at age 13-14. It went away. Throughout the last 20 years, it pops up again and then stops hours later. Get over it. It's not like POTS or extreme tachycardia where my heart rate shoots up to 250bpm within 2 minutes of any exercise...and that happened at my fittest when I was 25, 110-115lbs, 14% body fat and 98.9 lean muscle mass. Starting at 20-25, I've had 9 Holtor monitors, 3 stress tests, 3 tilt table tests all before age 26. The famed Mayo Clinic cardiologist during ine visit said I was just out of shape. Doesn't take much to be idiot, clueless specialists. The Cleveland Clinic, which is the best heart hospital in the U.S./world, had two doctors who again were useless and canceled each other out by saying it was either this or that condition but they didn't know and to just wear compression socks and take salt tablets. WTF!?!?!

Common misconception. There is no law regarding people disclosing medical information, like this scenario. HIPAA, which everyone uses it as a general basis to protecting medical information, is only pertaining to healthcare providers and health care insurance from sharing personally identifiable information with others. you telling someone your medical history and that person tells everyone else, that's not against the law. Now if there's any type of emotional or financial repercussions from sharing that information, the person can sue the other guy (civil matter and not criminal).

    • @kelseyk530

WTF!?!?!

JJ had a cardio inversion. Shocked into normal rhythm. If his AFIB continued he would get an ablation. Both procedures can be life threatening but normally are a same daycare situation. Intake into the hospital cardio unit in the morning and then released late afternoon. Anyway, more importantly JJ went back into normal rhythm. Finding out what triggered his AFIB is the crucial factor. Caffeine? Lack of sleep? Stress? All could be factors. Just another testament to his toughness and commitment to play on Sunday.

@kelseyk530 it is protected medial documents/information in general. Service providers outside of the hospital fall under the same umbrella. An automachic does not need to be HIPPA trained and I wonder If the repair shop owner would know what HIPPA is without speaking to HR dept if they had one. I would assume team medical and coaching staff would know what HIPPA us. Kind of like Rodgers and being "immunized", it gets messy.

A Fib does not mean your near dead. It is an irregular rhythm with your heartbeat. Many times it can be corrected with just medication, but if that doesn't work then shocking it is the next step. I had A Fib for several years. It makes you feel like your out of breath constantly. You are at a higher risk for clots and possibly a stroke. I too was put under and had my heart shocked into rhythm. I was sore for several days, so for him to come back from that and continue with football the next day that says a lot. Unfortunately for me it didn't last more than a month so I had to do a riskier procedure to correct it but am doing well now had am back to normal rhythm.
