Michael Jackson biopic trailer goes down well with critics at CinemaCon
"For the first time … generations of moviegoers will come together to experience an inside look at the most prolific artist who ever lived"
A surprise look at Michael, the forthcoming biopic based on the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson has received positive reviews.
The film will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who is known for films including Training Day, The Equalizer and Brooklyn’s Finest and is set to star Michael Jackson’s own nephew, Jaafar Jackson in the lead role.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s trailer began with a peek at the Jackson 5 performing their hit song ‘ABC’ on TV followed by a cut to a 90s-era concert of Jackson performing ‘Man in the Mirror’. Images of a masked Jackson being hounded by both fans and paparazzi are also shown.
The trailer also shows Jaafar as Michael, capturing his striking features and his dancing and stage presence. “You never were like anyone else,” Jackson’s mother - portrayed by Nia Long - says at one point in the clip.

MJ is innocent and fan or not if you follow the facts of every situation and the fams behind it, can see that. Michael has a song called Money, and how people will do anything for it. Money is basically the motivation every time. And another song of the same album. D.S which really stands for Tom Snedden but MJ said Don Sheldon as then Tom couldn’t sue. But Tom is the over zealous corrupt officer who kept going after MJ. It’s amazing how many people will say “You like MJ even though he did this and that.” I the. Lay out the facts, give them sources and I kid you not EVERY TIME they come around to MJ is innocent.

I’m pretty sure Pedophiles do not go around wearing t-shirts advertising they are pedo’s. You cannot with 100% certainty say he is innocent. There are accusations people’s testimony that says otherwise. Does that mean he’s guilty, not exactly so either way but there is NO WAY to say 100% for sure. He never had a true childhood of his own and didn’t trust adults as he’d only known them to be manipulative and exploitative. His only crime was being being too naive and trusting of people, many who were the parents of terminally ill kids who he was helping cover their medical costs snd ensuring they had the best time possible with the remaining time they had.

As a nurse, it made me deeply angry because the doctor did not give not administer his medication correctly. I knew the Arvizos. I was Davellin's roommate at Neverland for 5 days (we were the only two females in our party of seven) in June 2002, and I knew MJ was going to be arrested 6 months before it happened. (Chris Tucker and I were friends before he was famous and we were working together when he took me there). After bonding with the kids at Neverland (I'd never even heard of them before we met at Chris's house immediately before the trip), I knew Janet (the mom), the grandparents, the kids slept over at my apartment, and they even met MY parents after we got back to L.A. I definitely believe MJ was innocent (especially after watching the trial because SO much came out that I didn't know when I was close with the Arvizos). They cut off all contact with me once MJ was arrested; I have to assume that was because it had become clear that Chris was siding with MJ, and Chris and I had been friends for over a decade at that point. I don't know if any of that matters, but I was a witness to some of it.
EDIT: Obviously, I didn't "watch" the trial because it wasn't televised, but I was greatly surprised by some of the things in the transcripts when I finally read/heard them many years later. It took me a long time because I was emotionally connected/invested on both sides. I had a genuine relationship with Davellin, Gavin and Star when the shit hit the fan, but I was also a lifelong Michael Jackson fan. I saw my first J5 concert at 4 years old, and MJ (with his brothers) many more times afterwards. I flew home from college in Tennessee to L.A. - TWICE - for the last two dates of the "Bad" tour because MJ got sick in November and the concerts were rescheduled for January. I think I wanted to pretend that none of the trial stuff really happened for a long time, and that's why it took me so long to read/hear the court transcripts. One of my best friends used to call me "Forresta Gump" because I always seemed to stumble into bananas (newsworthy) situations without ever trying; there have been a lot lol. But that just doesn't matter as it relates to MJ. I actually got to see him being a regular dad (Prince was 5, Paris was 4, and "Blanket" - now Bigi - was an infant the world didn't know about yet when I was at Neverland). So I'll just love him, miss him, and hope I'll get to meet his spirit again when my time on this Earth is over.

Also, Andy's whole point is about looking at the MJ allegations in the context of evidence. It's not for you to prove that you had these interactions in relation to a man who was already proven innocent by a court of law. The doubters should be reading the proof that is in the court documents, witness statements etc before they ask for "proof" in an attempt to be clever as the burden of proof is on the accuser. You've even said that you were friends with the Arvizos and one can usually tell a sincere statement just from the general mundaneness of what's described (no offence but my point is that as other witnesses have said, there's nothing scandalous to say about private situations with MJ, it's only the media who promote these sensational stories about MJ to sell papers, but the actual truth is much more boring). Do you think the Arvizos would ever publicly retract their accusations?

I have so much information that I wanna get off my chest and wanna throw my hat in the ring, too. There are FACTS out there that no one seems to wanna hear except the fans. I would happily go to battle for Michael and will NEVER stop fighting for him! After all he gave me throughout all the horrors of trauma that I went through... in my childhood, teenage years, and as an adult... I want to give back to him. The tide is turning. I was a fan growing up, in the 90's went to see his concert in London. But being in the UK, when Martin Bashir did his documentary, you did question yourself. Bashir had a good reputation after the Princess Diana interview. Then the Finding Neverland thing came out. But obviously since everything that came out about Martin Bashir, his underhanded ways to get the Princess Diana interview, his reputation in now in the toilet, so you question all his work now. The Finding Neverland documentary stuff has been debunked. Finally the truth is coming out. I did doubt things, but not now. Can't wait to see this, when you release it Andy.

I think because of the abuse he suffered, he had arrested development, he identified more with young kids because he never had a childhood. Peoole took that and made nasty assumptiins and because those assumptions were out there, it made it easy for scammers to come out and use the rumors for finacial gain, further abusing a guy who already suggered so much. He gave the world something so special, and I think it's so sad that all that negativity followed him till the day he died 😢

Yes he was naive and open to false allegations, but he was never the monster people tried to claim he was. The feds did everything they could to convict him but ultimately couldn’t because there was no real evidence and those making the claims were clearly out for money and their stories never added up. I've always been a Michael Jackson fan for as long as I can remember and one of my dreams growing up was to see him perform live someday. When he finally did the History Tour I told myself it's now or never. Couldn't let the chance to see him pass me by. It was the holiday season at the time and I spent my entire month's salary for the tickets for me and a friend. I had no more money left to spend on any presents or anything but it was all worth it. I have no regrets and I'd do it all over again. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life that I always cherish. For me he always remained the best no matter what "allegations" came out about him. There will never be another Michael Jackson. He will forever be the one and the only King of Pop.
