I'm from the Netherlands and we're having a lot of attacks on personal homes with fireworks they turn into pretty serious explosives. I checked it out a few months ago. We've gone from basically no attacks at all to 300-400 a year. So yeah we're basically a warzone now. There's basically no punishment for anything if the police can even be bothered to check anything out. It's a disgrace. I will say we've always had a few very specialized police units that do incredible work but the majority of the politics regarding enforcement just consists of throwing their hands up and saying, there's nothing we can do. It's a criminal free for all and everyone knows it.

Well, I've been to some places (as I gather Jordan has as well) where one could, depending on their looks, sort of just fade into the woodwork, but it would be such a low-key lifestyle that it definitely wouldn't be the pot at the end of the rainbow and in fact would be a life most would consider difficult, let alone someone used to having lots of cash.
