There was no reason just checking the 2 relays for the fuel pump 🤔

@asBikeRiderYou might have missed his point. Its hard to understand you when you talk this close to a running engine :-/
But thanks for the video anyway!

Reminds me of Forrest Gump in DC when he’s at the podium getting to tell the crowd about Vietnam and the Gov unplugged him 😂

So my sons 04 4Runner went dead. Went to get him. It started. Turned it off. Tried starting again and the starter was sticking trying to turn over. Turned it off. Towed him home. He is fuel gauge showed over a 1/4 tank. Checked all of the essentials. Relay, alternator, spark etc. no codes showing. No check engine light. Couldn’t hear the fuel pump prime. It heard a weak buzzing sound above the pump electrical connection access under the passenger seat. Determined that the pump was bad. So we started the process of dropping the tank. We just didn’t want to cut a big hole in the chassis to pull it out. Then deal with sealing it back. So we drop the tank and when the jack lowered all of the way. He pulled it out. I had a leg under the tank anticipating the weight shift of roughly 5-6 gallons of fuel. The tank was floating above the ground about an inch or two. I thought to myself immediately. That’s odd. But knew that something was up. 😂 so I knocked on it and wiggled it around. Zero slushing. I looked at him and said son I think you were out of gas. So while he was looking at his account to see when he bought gas last. Like that even matters at this point. I started taking the lock ring off. He let out a gasp. It had been almost 3 1/2 weeks since he bought gas. I pulled the pump out and looked into the tank and it was beautiful. Not a spec of sediment or dirt. Nothing like a brand new empty swimming pool with the liner. It was so shiny. Not one drop of gas. It was bone dry. I just started laughing. The sending unit was faulty and was sending the wrong fuel level. So he was just going by that. So was I. In hindsight sight. I had removed the fuel line under the hood and when he turned the key there was zero fuel pressure because the gas that was at the top of the line didn’t even bubble out. So I guess I learned a valuable lesson. Immediately question zero fuel pressure and ask the person or in my case, my son. When the last time you got gas was. How much was in it before you got it. Felt pretty dumb. But we went ahead and changed the plugs and the pump since it had 168k on both. All original parts. Even the plugs. They looked perfect just natural ware. Needless to say we have a back up fuel pump now.

It sounds like it could be the fuel pump or check the open relay on the passenger side behind the glove box you will find the relay there below the two a/c relays..

Ridiculous. To put out the effort that could be so helpful and then upload it with inaudible narration. As f we haven't suffered enough frustration.

Hey brotha, I have a 2000 4Runner where I’m having the same issue. Fuel pump isn’t getting any power leading to not being able to start the vehicle. I’ve been searched everywhere for this open circuit relay since researching this could be the issue/fix. Where is it located up in the glove box? I feel like I’ve stripped out everything I need to, and I still can’t seem to find anything that resembles this fuel pump relay. Was yours pretty tucked away and hard to get to also? Where in the glove box cavity should I be looking?

It may be on the passenger side right above the kick panel under the dash you should see a couple of relays and fuse panel and below should be the open circuit relay 🤔
