this is literally the best produced piano tutorial I’ve ever seen
Eh, I wish it had about 5 minutes of talking and promoting courses before even touching the piano
RIGHT!?
Agree 💯
Completely agree. First time on the channel too!!❤
the art of modern teaching
And they’re smashing it👌👌
The content somehow gets better and better
Practice makes perfect. 😂
They keep finding ways!
Will you please, with all my sprinkles, whipcream, choco chips, and a 1000 cherries on top. MORE OF THIS style of teaching in the beat. So cool!!
This is so peak. A stellar musician teaching their skills to an audience as if they were learning it for the very first time. THAT takes talent.
Yes, it’s a perfect exhibition of Adam’s ability to talk and play in time. Time never stops!
this is like meditation
Adam. This has to be the simplest and one of the best chord tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you!
I mean, The quality of content creation in this video is next level! I can't believe what i'm just watching!!!
omg this opening is like FIREEEEE i already know i'm going to watch it like 10 times
The edit is AMAZING keep em coming great tutorial as usual
I've been looking for an onramp to jazz and i was able to watch this once and go right to the keyboard and begin. What a joy -- Wonderful!!
This is the best piano tutorial on the internet
This is the best, coolest and hippest music tutorial Ive ever seen in my entire life. It really inspires me to go practice. Thank you
clicked on this lazily at first but the hype comments encouraged me to stay and hoooooiieeeee i was not disappointed. EXCELLENT teaching format / style!! a student’s dream!!
Thank you for teaching us “jazz dummies” in a way we can understand. Hope you do some more like this.
Adam (and OS team), you've absolutely nailed the 'practice with me' format; the ones you were putting out through the pandemic were fantastic, and now with this level of production and live drumming is a game changer. Very excited to see more like this and with subjects applicable to other instruments (lines/phrasing/playing changes etc).
If this is a glimpse of what you have locked up in Open Studio then you're in grave danger of getting a new member!
adam is amazing as always and whoever did the editing absolutely crushed it. these lessons are so good.

Watching this on the ferry on my way to work and can't wait to get home and play this!!
Really great tutorial - simple to understand, visually exciting to watch, the addition of the drums make it flow beautifully.

Amazing tutorial. Thanks for the amazing content.
This is really great. Incredibly intuitive stuff. I will be directing my students to this.
Thank you, Adam! Can’t wait to try.
Feeling blue tonight. Stumblin upon this. Brought my smile and spirit back a bit. Gonna try it!❤ and thank you!😊

Well done guys.
Came for piano ideas and got some drumming ideas too. Boo yeah!
Thanks!
Amazing video production
For the first time since I've been following you, your tutorial is covering something I already know and play fairly well! It's very reassuring!
Very doable! Thank you.
Fantastic channel!
Thank you!
I realized on this video, what most important is keeping a groove. thank you.
Waiting for the most beautiful playlist from musics like this 🤩
LOVE this piano tutorial approach,....Its like a learning jam sessoin....
More of this style of lesson please!
That got me humming along a melody right away. Gonna have to write that one down.
OUTSTANDING!!! Anybody else hearing Simply Red's "Holding Back the Years"? I'm gonna go play now!! 😊
would like to see (hear) more of this tutorials, please!! ❤
Man, you guys have unlocked something special
More of these types of tutorials, please! :D
I wish I’d had videos like this years ago, would’ve made the journey more colorful. Thanks guys
Very nice!!!
64, played all my life, but learned only to read music (notes). Timing; well, I love improv because I can’t read that. But with recent time and work that’s getting better. I want to loose the sheet music and just be free. Really appreciate your time and talents and sharing your knowledge. Thank you!
Awesome
Very beautiful, I would like to see more vides like this. I would like to hear further your improvisation with these chords.
Oscar nominee for best video tutorial
As a complete beginner who started the piano solely to learn jazz on another instrument, this was extremely helpful, thanks a lot guys
Okay, this is sick. I'v been playing by ear and using chord charts for years, and can hold my own fairly well. It's sickening the ever so slight variation of tones opens a new world of sound. Darn, really thinking about joining up with this guy.
Super well presented lessons! Besides the chords themselfes, this was a great ear training because of the repetition!
Thank you.
I ised this progression during our meet and greet break at church on sunday.
💥The best💥
I realized thinking about the 7b13b9 is easier if you think a chord minor7b5 + 1 step above the root note, so in this case its just gminor7b5 on top and A on the bottom which is one step above G
r/didthemath
Warren Macphearson just released a whole video on this dominant b9 chord yesterday. If you want the b13 play a min7b5 a whole step below the root. If you just want the b9, play a dim 7 a whole step below the root.
Nice, simple approach to jazz comping. It would be cool if you could do a tutorial on that little improv you did at the end.
Fire. I love the production on this video. Very well done. Another fun progression to play is E-9b5 // A7b9b13 // D-9 // G13b9 Cmaj9. Bass notes in LH, RH has G-maj7, G-7b5, Fmaj7 Fdimmaj7 E-7.
Thanks
ye the guy editing is getting that BAAAAG. such a well crafted video
y’all should make a part two on this explaining how to solo over it. the basic stuff.
Sweet 😊
He really snapped at the end lol
Amazing playing
HOLY THE VIDEOGRAPHY
Is this content on Open Studio somewhere? It’s great stuff!
Lowdown by Boz Scaggs has those 1st two chords as the main vamp (Em9 - A13) and eventually Yacht Rock was born.. of course David Paich being the composer it's no surprise it's jazzy. thanks for all your videos!
Love this class. Hoping for the payoff down the road 😊
so simple but he groovin
Awesome! so useful, thanks! The only thing, is that in the video you mention the Fmaj13 chord, but in the pdf that chord appear like a Fmaj9.
But anyway, thanks thanks thanks for this video!
Can you do a tutorial on improvising in this style?
Ďakujeme.
This is what the people need, fundamentals!
