Helped a lot, voicbreak at 11:58
on 5:08 there is the more simple way it is 38+38= 76 add those both angles works with only those type shapes after adding them just multiply 76 by 2 and you'll get 152* hope that helps
Good Luck shorter words ABC x 2 = ADC

hi when finding out "y" on question 8 dont you do "2x+43+4y-5x=180" because co-interior angles add up to 180. Alot of help though, thank you!
Helped with revision for end of year exam for Yr 8. :) Thank you.
why would you revise a higher GCSE paper for the end of year 8 when you even if you were in a higher set of year 8 you wouldn't cover any of this at the same level
+Erin M.M This is Year 11 revision I'm pretty sure. Probably shouldn't have helped you much
You wouldn't have even covered most of these topics in year 8, so this paper seems redundant for your use
@@ollie9162 who said you? I am in 7th grade in asia it helped me a lot ..
Thank you so much, its really helpful because you explain how to break down the different questions to make life easier and it helps me. Keep up the good work!
These actually look quite good and easy compared to the absolutely ridiculous thing we have in Ireland called the junior cert, which is so much harder and stressful that you actually see a drastic increase in depression of people afterwards. Not to mention you do it when your around 15, which I believe is a year earlier than the average age the students in Britain do theirs
Yes. I am from Asia 🌏12 years old and got everything. This was so easy. I wanna go england. Here in asia we have 20x harder exams. I don't want to study 😫here. I think I would be a topper in uk.
Sorry for my English...... 🙂
I am tutoring my son in GCSE Higher Maths, who is currently in year 10 and today I covered circle theorems with him.
For question 3 I would have been tempted to draw a circle with the centre at the point where lines AD, BD, and CD meet.
Since these lines are shown to be equal, then the circle would have a radius equal to their length and the points A, B, and C would lie on the circumference. I would then draw a chord connecting points A and C.
Finally after determening the angle DBC = DBA = 38 deg making angle ABC = 76 deg, I would use the circle theorem that says an angle subtended at a chord and the centre of a circle is twice that subtended at the chord and a point on the circumference in the same segment,
so that angle X = 2 x angle ABC = 2 x 76 = 152 deg.
Hi - yes, that would work just as well. The topic here is ‘angles on parallel lines,’ although there’s nothing to stop you using a circle theorem - quite innovative, and thanks for the the comment :-)
@@3minutemaths Thank you very much for your reply, and by the way I did mean to also thank you for your videos which I use very often to hone my tutoring skills (or lack thereof) for my son. In fact, 9 times out of ten, your methods are far superior to mine as I tend to waffle on too much. I am an engineer, so the maths is not at all a problem, but knowing something and explaining it is a different proposition.
One thing I see is that there are many questions to answer for the amount of time a student would have, so I try, through looking at videos like yours, to find quick solutions, hence my paltry circle offering which I though would save some time in answering such a question.
Anyway, thanks for your good works. As a father it is much appreciated.

Hello, would you be able to do more work on recurring decimals to fractions. But with it starting with 1. Some thing e.g using algebra show that 1.024 =1 4 over 165. I need help on this. The ones with 0. Something I'm fine on.
Many thanks!
Hi - here's a playlist that might help: ua-cam.com/play/PLPglScc3TJ-NYE8X0SewjbgBTx98R4y8E.html. All best S
For number 3, a possible answer I worked out was that you use the rule of circle theorems and then you find it using the rule which therefore shows that 38+38 is 76 but to find x, you double it because of circle theorems so 76x2 = 152.. sorry if I didn’t make sense.
Hi - yes, that’s perfectly correct and a good method. Thanks for the comment and all very best S :-)
Q3 you can use circle theorem as well and do 38 + 38 = 76 × 2 = 152
i hate to break it to you. there's no circle :)
@@jadsiva2771 would still work though right??
@@rugby9209 if it gives the same answer then yess i guess so
@@rugby9209 would probably not get full marks
Question 3. because lines are parallel ACF=90 degrees. parallel lines also make EABx2 = 76. 90degree - 76degree = 14degrees for remainder of angle ACF. 14 degree x 2 cause of parallel line which = 28. Then you minus 28degree from 180 degree which =152.
Norths Face Hi - no prob - there’s a number of ways you could present this. Best S
@@3minutemaths CORRECT! I just found this method quicker thats all
For Q7, one of the assumptions that you would always get a mark for (in those type of question) is that the sample set is representative of the wider population.
The only rock solid answer for the question '... how much ham pizza should Kate order' is 'Enough ham pizza to feed 400 students'.
Yes - true :-)
thank you helped a lot
That’s great and glad to help - all very best S :-)
At 5:57 couldn't you just have done circle theorem do 38+38=76 and then 76*2=152 because angle at circumference is half the angle at the centre?
Hmmm - you could, but you'd need to draw the circle. This question is more about parallel line, alternate & corresponding angles. Best S

On question 7 how have you got the 1 on the bottom and the 200
Hi - it’s just a way of working out the fraction. You could multiply 20 x 1200 ... and then divide the answer by 60.... but there’s a lot of big numbers to deal with.
Or, to make it easier, you can reduce the 20/60 to 1/3 and then divide the 3 into 1200. This will then give you 400 as an answer.
Or, you could get rid of the zero’s in 20/60 and then divide the 6 into 1200. This will also work.
You’re really just using equivalent fractions.
Best S
Question 6 is related to which chapter of maths?
Nusrat Faras Hi - I’m not sure that there is a separate topic for this. It’s one of those odd questions that come up occasionally.....

hi tysm for this video, my mock is tomorrow but i feel like i can do it now!
at 24:05 though, wouldn’t it equal 160 not 200 because you’re adding minus 20 onto 180? sorry i got confused there
Hi - Glad to help and all very best with your mock! At 24.05 I’m ‘adding 20 to both sides’ - on the left hand side of the equals sign this will cancel the -20, and make it zero. However on the right hand side, I also have to add 20, so it makes 200. All very best S
the one at 21:11. what kinda of topic is that?
Hi - there isn’t really a topic, as the question covers a few different areas: angles in a parallelogram and solving equations. Best S
@@3minutemaths So is it just like a random questions that they put it and your expected to solve it?
@@loredfolk1069 - Hi - it’s probably more that the new GCSE curriculum (from 2016) focusses on ‘reasoning skills’ .... many of the questions include two or three different topics. Best S

Here's an assumption for the pizza question. Are we assuming Kate asked vegetarians/vegans and those on a faith-based diet.
I really need to learn minuses and pluses cuz my brain cant comprehend how -20 + 180 = 200 🤔🙁
Because the rule is - and + = - so it would either be 160 or -160 or even -200, i just don't get it.
Drag on Hi - it can be very confusing. Only a suggestion, but for adding and subtracting, perhaps think of a thermometer:
It’s -20 outside, but then gets +180 degrees warmer. It’s now +160.
It’s -20 outside, then gets 50 degrees colder (-). It’s now -70.

Okay but -20 + 180 is not 200. I swear it’s 160?! That’s what the calculator said anyway😅
Hi - do you mean q8 around 24 minutes? If so, it's really a linear equation:
-20 + 4y = 180
so we need to add 20 to both sides:
4y = 200
and then divide by 20
y = 50
