My mother was telling me how Nutrela has been around since she was young, and their soya chunks were a big deal back then. It’s honestly so disappointing to hear that such an old and trusted brand, founded in 1982, has been found to have pesticides in their soya chunks. Just for context, Nutrela used to be owned by Ruchi Soya Industries Limited, but now it’s part of Patanjali Foods Limited.

One thing for those who are concerned -
Soaking overnight and then boiling chunks does remove pesticides in the chunks. So don't stop consuming, just soak overnight and then boil next day, squeeze and take the excess water out of chunks and then cook 👍

Now test soya chunks from different brands, also as we all know we boil it and then consume it, does boiling them reduces the amount of pesticides?

It does, to some extent. Usually most of it reduces when the raw material is washed and then cooked. Chunks go through both processes. Which only means that the pesticide content was much much higher in the raw material which because of which the % in the ready product remained high even after heat & pressure application. A very bad sign overall which should be investigated by FSSAI.
