learning to starting speed boost pressing gas between red and yellow on light. is useful, esp if u play bowser or dk

I just watched the winning run for now. Will go back and watch the failures tomorrow.
That star driving on Ghost valley 3 was beautiful. And getting through Vanilla lake 2 and Rainbow road on one live was very special.
Congratulations on beating one of the hardest games out there. But trust me on this its a fabulous game as you improve. There is so much depth to it

Mate I legit had to stop and take small break between the last few races as I could not control my nerves. Like my whole body was shaking a little when I was on Rainbow road. lol
Holy crap man I thought the original Mario Kart would be easy. That was a brutal wake up call.
Half of all the failures are from the first track to be honest. lol I HATE the first track so much. lol
But thanks.
If there was time trail times to beat (staff times for example) I would try and beat those. But I believe they don't come in until later games. As I would want to try and do those on later games.

@@Who-KnowsGaming There are ghosts in time trial. On the character select screen pressing start on the 2p controller allows you to select a computer racer to go against. They are not technically staff ghosts though. Also there is a time trial world rankings page thats been going since 1998. Its still updated weekly. google mariokartplayers and click smk on the left side of the page.

Geez man, I feel ya. I was going through this exact same thing while you were uploading them. I finally beat it last week after months of grinding. I had seen videos that said to use Donkey Kong or Bowser and I used them throughout the whole time until I was stuck in the last 2 cups so I switched to Toad and that did the trick.
In the last cup on Race 1 (Donut Plains?) that's the hardest f*cking level I've ever played. I learned a trick that was the only way I could get past this race: grab a mushroom and use it right after the long bridge with the missing section and press jump repeatedly: you can hop over the barrier and go straight to the finish line. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
I ended up using all of my Lives on this Donut Plains track and somehow got 1st place and carried on without any lives to spare. Somehow I got 1st in every race after that and I remained in 1st place the entire Rainbow Road track which blew my mind. I had the same reaction of excitement but mainly frustration, like F*CK THIS GAME, I'll never play it again.
I make walkthroughs and was wanting to do it for this game but decided not to. I think I'll just make a comparison video between this one and Mario Kart 64 just showing the amount of levels, the cups, characters, etc.

Well congrats on finishing this game yourself, mate! I am so glad Donis Plains 3 was not the final level on the game. I honestly didn't feel like Rainbow Road was that bad. Like all the computers drive a little slower on that level as well. Haha.
Yeah I thinking Donkey and Bowser are the fastest character but the acceleration is so bad. I just went with someone more all rounded like mario.
I went into this thinking, it's the first Mario Kart, how hard can it be? Holy crap was I wrong. But yup, never playing this game again!
