I love my Midnight Special. Steel frame, mechanical shifting/brakes, external cables makes it simple to work on. My philosophy is that bikes should help simplify your life. Everyone wants a carbon superbike but I feel they're not very practical outside of competition use.
Hmm good question i don't have a good current estimate, SRAM has some new latest and greatest out since this groupset, so prices have probably changed quite a bit
@@backofthegravelpack I didn’t realize they were carbon wheels, I assumed from the hyperglide freehub body that they were more entry level. It sounds like your bike is already specced out other than the drivetrain so why not go AXS. But if you’re really thinking about switching up wheels, Fusion Fiber wheels seem like a really cool technology, Atomik and Revel are 2 I can think of off the top of my head that make them. Also maybe a dropper post if they make AXS ones in 27.2? Edit: or you could swap the freehub body to an xd or microspline and bump to a 10 tooth if you want more top end
Nice upgrade Rich! Can't wait to see the ride review!
You and me both, just need this weather to cooperate!
This was great! I'm in the process of building this exact bike but in fool's gold. Love seeing what the wolftooth stuff looks like in purple too
Awesome, good luck with your build!

Yep fair enough, the steel offers a pretty comfortable ride too!
nice upgrades
Thanks, looking forward to using and abusing them!
Very Nice!
Thanks CJ!
What are the parts for the build?
Very cool! What would a setup like that cost to swap onto a bike?

No offense, but a cheaper groupset like grx and new wheels woulda done a lot more for the same amount of money
No offense taken, but those are bomtraeger carbon wheels on the video. I'd interested in what wheels you'd suggest to upgrade to.
