Of course! My bad...I forgot these artists are making no money at all because of us rotten consumers. They're all struggling for bread.Jay Z and Beyonce can barely afford to put food in Blue Ivy's mouth or fill their private jet with gas anymore all because of us illegally downloading their content. Shame on us
....Sarcasm aside -don't be fooled. This venture is nothing more than a ploy for artists to claw back lost money at the expense of us- the music buying public. There's nothing entrepreneurial about this. The labels will still take a cut like they do on Spotify. All that's happening here is the rich artists are becoming richer by exploiting us gullible music consumers by blinding us with science. Newsflash- every device/music hardware has the capacity to improve music quality. Yet they have us believe that paying $20 a month for the privilege is acceptable. These artists don't care that some people will beg steal and borrow to subscribe to this service (when they don't have the financial means to do so) it's a sad day for music in my opinion- music lovers becoming increasingly marginalised. You have to see that

Beg and steal to subscribe to the service?? I think that's pretty far fetched. Yes Beyonce and Jay Z have PLENTY of money, but a lot of it comes from their entrepreneurial endeavors. They found other ways outside of the music to attain their wealth. Does that give us a right to get their music free?? I personally don't think so. And I could be wrong, but I also assume this will benefit a lot of upcoming artists as well. I've heard that many artists make pennies from Spotify, and I'm only assuming that with musicians in power, they can negotiate better deals with the record labels that will actually benefit MUSICIANS.
Why does Spotify have the right to get a cut for providing someone else's music?? I think the artists definitely have more of a right than them! However, I do believe they HAVE to offer a free option with advertisements. They simply have to.
You bring up some good points that I'm thinking about now though. Thanks for your comment.
