Really depends on what we're measuring lyricism by but that alone is a good indicator. We're not using Kendrick lyrics in our captions. No matter how anyone feels about Drake, we gotta give credit where it's due. Drake can hold his own with his pen and the bars connect with the masses for sure.

If he doesn't respond to direct shots by Kendrick, he will never be top 5 by anyone's actual Hip Hop standards. Bailing out to a direct challenge is not respected if you call yourself the greatest. The best MCs don't back down from a duel, specially with someone that is truly at your level. Drake couldn't take Pusha T head on, but he likes punching down to Meek or Meg Thee Stallion cause those are easy targets.
He's absolutely afraid of K-Dot, because K-Dot came out the gate hot since Section 80, but really make his place in Hip Hop with Good Kid Maad City, and slowly, and was accepted by fans, hip hop heads, and the media in a way that's unforeseen from other MCs. Drake has good reason to be scared from such a challenger.
