Nobody frowns on older bikers if they have always been bikers, it's just the idea of a guy in his 50s trying to take biking for the first time. Some people view it as a midlife crisis.
You beat me to it, speaking as a 70 year old life long biker who got his first bike at 16 and has never owed or even learned to drive a car, I DO occasionally encounter the "trying to hang on to his youth" comment, but not as often as I used to, back when I was a noob seeing a guy in his 30s on a bike would raise the same comment, it goes back to the times when people had a motorbike because they couldn't afford a car and as they 'grew up' they could afford one.
Sean's comments about "you should be on a coach and dressed head to toe in beige" is my idea of hell. 😃
I have heard that new middle age bikers are called by the Police BAMBI’s, short for Bald Middle Age Bikers! And by Doctors as Organ Donor Machines! 😜😆😆
There’s nothing wrong with a mid life crisis I’ve had a couple myself and as long as you survive, it’s fine.
Spot on
I was thinking the same thing I have four brothers who have been riding since before they were aloud, all in their 50s / 60s . Sean meant the first time ever bloke in his 50s getting something like a massive touring bike that he can barely hold up.
Sean most likely shaved his head because of chemotherapy; he was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer several years earlier. 😔
It is a coincidence, yes.
Talk about his comedy not cancer.
I thought he had skin cancer?
@@kss987 he had skin cancer earlier in life and overcame it ,then sadly developed lung cancer which killed him. He was a building labourer when he was younger. It rings bells with me as I'm a middle aged carpenter who works in the Australian sun constantly and I get sun spots either cut out or burnt out on a regular basis. It's very inconvenient but skin cancer is a big killer here.. I reckon he would have always been a bit of a joker but building sites also breed jokers
Chemo kills hair cells. Nothing to do with shaving the head.
Sean always tells it like it is 😂
In England Sean was called the comics comic, every comedian loved him.
Yeh you're right there about the hand gesture👀👌😂
With the bikers,he's not talking about the over 50s who have always ridden, he's talking about Dave the office manager, who decides at 50,that he needs some "danger" in his boring life....👀😑😂😂💜
I don’t think I’ve ever heard an American say “seaside” before. But can’t think what they’d usually say.
The beach
Sean at his brilliant best. RIP
Old bikers tend to be bikers that have evaded fatal accidents long enough to get old. Midlife crisis bikers are the ones with leather jackets which are shiny and still smell of the chemicals from Amazon's shipping process.
People can tell the difference!
Do all leather jackets come from the Amazon?
As the saying goes there are plenty of old bikers, and there are plenty of crazy bikers, but very few old crazy bikers, a crazy old biker is a different thing entirely, as a 70 year old life long biker I think I may be in the last category. 😄
@@fatherjack1148 You couldn't have been that crazy if you reached 70.
@@Gambit771 clearly never heard of Rocky Taylor.
62 years as stuntman and still going strong. What do you do in your day to day life? Apart from trying to bring people down over the internet. You absolute tit ✊💦
Yeah that is sign language for what you said.
Yes that is the sign language for Wanker mostly used in car if someone cuts u up in traffic.
You must do the Rhod Gilbert compilation WILTY just as outrageous as Bob Mortimer
Yes the hand gesture is the five knuckle shuffle 🤪
The comment about the kid in the hunting outfit was hilarious., but the pot of jam comment size made me giggle
Yeah that's the sign for wanker. Also traffic warden.
3rd wank of the day had me howling the first time I heard it.
Also, you know Sean had a sitcom, right?
There is a difference between being a biker over 50 and buying your first bike after 50
A genius and your reactions bring a smile to my face at the end of a long day. From South Africa 🇿🇦 King Boomer. I now hear you using uk words like Muppet
Breaking whatnow? Never heard of it. Bryan Cranston was good in Seinfeld tho.
And John Carter!
A new comedian for you to watch is Paul Smith, a scouser who takes no prisoners
The hand gesture does indeed mean wanker 😁
I love how you love the "C" word
RIP Sean. Still greatly missed....Perhaps it's time to return to Bob Mortimer on Would I lie to you? There's a couple of videos I think you'd enjoy...Bob breaks into a witch's garden and does a heist on the campsite tuck shop...
only over 50's can afford a £20,000 harley, hardly any teens have them any more
That is the wanker sign yeah
RIP Sean Lock
Is a "as much as a 3rd wank of the day" a measurement you'll be adding to your vocabulary
Look out for comedian, Paul Smith.
My brother bought an Aston Martin DB9 for his midlife crisis, I think I'm gonna go buy be a Honda Grom...................... I just turned 50. Nah fuck that, I just stick to mountain biking and enjoying it.
It does mean wanker with the hand gesture!
The word in the medical profession for inexperienced bikers over 50 is "donors".
♥
sadest thing is sean died 2 years after this
If he's 54 it's 4 years before his death
Don't feel bad about his hair and illness. He didn't let it define him when he was alive.
I'm almost certain you have a silhouette of Shaun Locks face on one of your T-Shirts?
We got a bench for my mate in our village,as he died in a crash in the village so b4 I die I'm gonna have a crash,so I'm famous wen I'm gone.lol
We have a whole road named after a young dude who crashed his car not far from us .
The C word in the UK is still a bit ??? but not as bad as its viewed in the US.
Older bikers in US because of cost of Harleys...only they can afford to be bikers.
I think he was recovering from Cancer
I didn't have a midlife crisis and now I'm too old, opportunity missed.😐
Frown on older bikers?? I hope not… I recently turned 51, and own 6 classic sport bikes! 👀😭
I'm about to turn 70 and just got myself a trike, nothing to do with being old, this will be my 3rd trike, been 20 years since my last one, the only thing that's changed since I got my first bike at 16 is I no longer ride in the wet and the cold unless I absolutely have to.
I think the bald head is due to the cancer mate...
R.I.P. sean.
As in one of Jimmy Cars Jokes, why does an Old person have to die every time the Park gets a new Bench? 🪦🪑😆😆😆🤣🤣👍🏻
Boomer, the brown signs are road signs that highlight historical sites and are brown in color, we have em all over
There are more and more similarities between Brits and yanks with Brits copying every sodding thing yanks do these days.
How was your glass of fabric softner?
Hardly a mid life crisis, didn't he die not long after this?
He had cancer
He had cancer so that’s why he lost his hair.
You should check out Frankie Boyle now he is funny just not to pc.
that's england for you and why the english hate england its miserable, people are negative and want to put and drag you down and are judgemental and bullying and care too much what others think
One of sean's best lines was 'That's a challenging wank'
R.I.P. Sean. Thanks for the laughs. You are missed.
Not wrong mate👍
He would have given us so many more laughs and smiles if he had lived a full life 😞
The best bench plaque I’ve seen read: “In memory of Geoffrey who hated this park and everyone in it.”
I’m sure this was Sean’s last stand up in Margate before he sadly passed ( no one will ever replace him NO ONE ) I’m filling up now 😂😂
It was his last stand up dvd anyway
It’s sad Every time a new bench is needed someone has to die 😮
If you like cynical humour you might like Jack Dee.
(He was the guy getting blasted by the pipes on the surreal Shooting Stars 'quiz show' compilation.)
His stick is cynical observation on everyday things. I know you like grumpy old man vibes and Jack Dee has been a grumpy man since he was young.
I definitely second that - Jack Dee is a must see.
It's the same in the UK, many bikers are over 50, especially the ones with the really expensive bikes. He's referring to older males trying biking for the first time
When you're young you can't afford them when you're middle aged you don't look as cool on them and when you're old you can't remember where you parked it.
@@paulbromley6687 That's pretty good
The comment about the tiny pot of jam absolutely cracks me up every time 😀
And so true.
It's not so much bikers in their 50's, it's men in their 50's who suddenly decide to buy a bike :)
@@paulhitchens7180 :)
You may be interested to learn that Sean Lock made a surreal sitcom, it was called “15 Storeys” and it was brilliant.
Agreed. Benedict Wong is also really good in that.
💯 the scene where the two guys are sharing a fag and every time the one finishes he puts it back between the others fingers has me in stitches
The "meth dealer look" was kind of forced upon him.
He was a master of observation and delivery. The competitive seal clubbing conversation is a classic.
Not to mention carrot in a box.
For a person I didn’t know fuck do I miss that guy.
Never actually realised how much so until he had passed.
The amount of hours I spend on YT looking at all his clips and to people reacting to his clips is mental.
Off the cuff Sean was my fave as with stand up (although good) I felt he had too much time to think about it and could become a bit too random.
Yes, he was fire off the cuff and his stand up didn't match his quick wit.
👍
what is King Boomer drinking? battery acid? detergent? radium?
Windscreen wash. On offer at Aldi at the minute.
Aaaaaah I'm so proud of you; "Is that the sign language for wanker"? You're really getting the hang of it ;-)
Still sadly missed. A normal fella who happened to be ridiculously funny. Like Bob Mortimer.
Bob Mortimer is dead?
@@lordsoros627 dead funny?
Bob Mortimer is the exact opposite of Sean lock ..ie not funny and alive ( rest in peace Sean )
I've always thought Sean lock was funniest on panel shows rather than stand up.
His quick wit and spontaneous of the cuff jokes on panel shows is his best work
Yes, I agree. I enjoy all comedians, but in my opinion there is a difference between “stand up” comedians and “panel” comedians. I am looking for King Boomer to correct me if I am wrong, but American comedy panel shows really don’t seem to exist to the same extent and in the same way.
Stand-up comics have, at the very least, a vague script that they try to keep to. Panel comedians have nothing to depend on, other than their wits, and have to constantly, on live TV, think instantly as the program develops on a second by second basis. I am constantly lost in admiration about how comedians like dear late Sean Lock, and the “less late” Lee Mack, Jimmy Carr, and Jo Brand can think so rapidly and give a comic response to someone saying a few innocent words.
@@johnnyuk3365 We know these people are witty, but I think their wit is best exemplified in a live stand up situation, particularly when dealing with hecklers. Personally, I'm not a fan of any panel shows. They always feel a bit contrived to me and they are neither live nor as spontaneous as they strive to appear to be. I wouldn't be surprised if that off the cuff ad lib is the second or third take of it. TV is fake.
I can't think anyone will surpass him as a guest on a panel show.
I think here, he’s bald for very Walter White reasons
Oh and they don't allow the C word here, and yet you (unbeknowingly) have it in one of your videos! :D You cut off this guy at the end of the reaction as he was saying he loved his country to have it sound like "i love my c..." :D Anyway, accidents happen, just not sure if you knew [American Reacts to TOP 10 MOST HATED COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD Reactio] at 23 minutes 4 seconds. I swear I nearly choked on whatever I was eating at the time laughing!
Sean was just Superbious, Lord he is missed. Smashing bloke who was just so gifted. Love from a Scot & you are loved dear Sean lad. ♥
He was the best. His humor and mine overlapped completely.
One of my favourite Sean Lock skits was "I try to be nice, but i have the wrong kind of voice for sounding enthusiastic" XD
His look was sadly because of chemotherapy.
i think him being terminally ill maybe to do with his looks but im not sure
I thought that
I sense a little sarcasm there, Totemking! 😉
Yeah, "he decided to go the Bryan Cranston route" was a very poor choice of words.
He didn't know the situation guys, don't be too harsh. He didn't even get into Sean until after he'd passed away.
I am from uk England Derbyshire Chesterfield
King boomer Sund up mick Miller Sund up video s
Stand up banned manning videos comedy
Dude. You should definately continue with Man Down when you can with Queen Boomer. I think you will lose your shit. ( My best American impression.
You should try Dara O’ Briain he’s another very intelligent comedian who asks questions to his audience and I’ve just done a quick google search and there’s a few of his concerts on UA-cam short and full videos
Love your British phrases mate. Your becoming British by the minute. Sean locke was brilliant rip Sean 🙏
Yep you got the sign language right
You should check out the BBC comedy series he did (and wrote) along side Benedict Wong called 15 STORIES HIGH. Two great series with some very funny moments.
Bedaoomd is at Spain
Sean Lock probably didn’t have much choice as far as the haircut was concerned, due to him dying of cancer. He didn’t last much longer after this, he said early on that he was 55. He didn’t last long after age 55.
I think we do have far more similarities than differences, it just makes the differences stand out more and I welcome those relatively small number of differences. It creates a reason for each of us to break each others balls and bond.
You should definitely do some Bill Hicks, I know he’s American not English but he’s so good 👍
You are looking more like a villain from The Flashing Blade every time I come back to the channel.
Have you considered offsetting the audio by around 5 seconds so we can get the full effect and flashbacks to the 1970’s 🤷🏻♂️
The UK biker community is smaller than Americans. Roads are different. May see some on the motorway. Always pull in and let pass.
Nah don't worry about his hair comment. But this was when he was ill. Went down fighting. And funny.
Was this from the keep it light dvd? Was an absolutely shocking cringe watch. He was great on cats as a panelist but I bought this dvd and didn't see it out
You need to watch Micky Flanagan.
Anything of his will do.😂
Most people having chemotherapy shave their head because it's a better look than your hair falling out.
His haircut wasn't connected to his illness. He appeared on cats does countdown like it
i want to get a plaque that says' so and so hated this park and everybody in it'
U need to check out Micky Flanagan or Jason Manford
I think you need to react to jasper carrot 24 carrot gold
Yes it's the international sign language for a ham shandy.
Nice one 👍🇬🇧🙏
"sign language for wankers" - yes, yes it is.
Are you losing weight King???
