To legally immigrate to the US you need to convince an employer to sponsor your H1B visa which requires the employer to pay you at the prevailing wage and even if you do there is a 33% chance of you getting the visa as its a lottery. If you are not a STEM major you will only get a 1 year work permit after graduation. Even if you get H1B visa there is also no guarantee that your employer will go through with green card (permanent residency) sponsorship via EB2/EB3 (a very difficult process that requires the employer to prove to the US government that there is no US citizen or permanent resident that can do the job at the prevailing wage by advertising the position on a local newspaper for 2 consecutive Sundays and interviewing all qualified candidates that applied.). So in short for people like the kid in the video and their families who didn't have the opportunity to get an education, it's very hard to get in legally in the current system.

To legally immigrate to the US you need to convince an employer to sponsor your H1B visa which requires the employer to pay you at the prevailing wage and even if you do there is a 33% chance of you getting the visa as its a lottery. If you are not a STEM major you will only get a 1 year work permit after graduation. Even if you get H1B visa there is also no guarantee that your employer will go through with green card (permanent residency) sponsorship via EB2/EB3 (a very difficult process that requires the employer to prove to the US government that there is no US citizen or permanent resident that can do the job at the prevailing wage by advertising the position on a local newspaper for 2 consecutive Sundays and interviewing all qualified candidates that applied.). So in short for people like the kid in the video and their families who didn't have the opportunity to get an education, it's very hard to get in legally in the current system.

That little boy at the end broke my heart. It made me cry and made me angry to know that there are many more just like him. Alone in a different country or even worse alone in the middle of nowhere. Basically left to die. These children should be with their mothers and fathers.

And they mean "group", I was fishing with my dad couple of years back on a 10ft john boat, and around 2am saw like 50 people walk across the river (Im from mexico, fishing in Guerrero, mexico) on an area of the river that water is around knee deep, just straight up taking a stroll, didnt even take em 5 minutes, and we can't say squat to immigration or the police in mexico cause we'll probably just end up missing. Ranch handyman whacked a "coy " few years ago and threw it in the river cause it threatened him to let him pass thru the ranch, that's just lawless land and everybody knows the horrible things that happen in the desert, but government doesn't do squat...
