This is a really cool market in the middle of Waikiki with really good grocery and dinning options! No more driving to other markets so convenient. Thank you for tour
Great video! We’ve been waiting for a new market to open since Food Pantry was torn down. We vacation on Oahu at least once a year. The market looks so inviting and your food takeout looked delicious. Thanks for featuring the market!
Wow that looks so good. I love the garlic shrimp!!! I discovered Basalt and Paia last time I was there, so I'll have to hit up this market on the next trip. Thanks for posting!
I stayed in that hotel Ramada in the first minute left side... in end of November 2005.. everything was so damn expensive back then.. a small bowl of pho noodle was already 10.50 USD in 2005!
Saw my boyfriend on this vlog! (Tall guy with black shirt) ❤ We love the cream filled malasadas, so Ono😅 I’m glad We have a normal grocery store in Waikiki, just minutes away from our condo… Prices are a little boujee 🤙🏼but So convenient. We can’t wait for the proposed Target to fill in Saks… then we’ll never need to leave home lol.
Looks like a big supermarket. Will be going there in about 40 days’ time. Looks like food variety has improved a lot since our last visit in 2008 from the UK. Bet Waikiki has changed a lot since our first visit in 1983 and last one in 2008. No more police in tricycles chasing dudes showing off in fast cars and catching them twice as the traffic lights changed to red 🤣🤣🤣. Pity you missed the wine section 😀 in the market. Will have to check it out for ourselves.
I'm in San Jose, California which is *not* a small city, nor is it a poor one. It's part of the so-called "Silicon Valley" and at least for the mainland, if we have a Target or a Sprouts or a Whole Foods, they can be considered about the best you're gonna get. But this place blows my mind! It's the size of a CostCo, and makes the "flagship" Whole Foods on "The Alameda" look like a run-down corner store.
So happy you featured this new supermarket Luke! Looks really nice. Also, that big store that closed down used to be Saks Fifth Ave but I read that it's going to be replaced by a Target.
That was a really nice market! It looks like you guys pay about 2 dollars more for a loaf of bread than we do. Groceries so expensive everywhere now! Thanks for another fun excursion Luke🙂
This is the kind of place that's going to cater to mainland people at mainland prices. Hawaiian cuisine doesn't have a lot of bread in it but if it did, you'd be able get get excellent bread in Chinatown for $1 a loaf haha! Instead, it's all about da rice....
Those mangoes are just right for making pickles! Remember the old way, when you take green mangoes, slice 'em really thin, and take one of your mother's mason jars and put 'em in there with vinegar, shoyu, some pepper, and if you're fancy some red dye, let 'em soak at least overnight, then take 'em to school to share with your friends?
Nordstrom Rack is up the street. When I was in town a few months ago, I went in there looking for some aloha shirts. I hear that Saks is going to be replaced by a Target eventually. ABC Stores can't be too happy about that.
Aloha Luke. I hope you are compensated by the Waikiki Tourist Bureau or at least get a tax break from the Hawaiian government because all your videos make people like me want to come back and inspire others to come for the first time. I am guessing this used to be the Food Pantry, my favourite place for eats and adult beverages.
What do you folks think of the prices? It was never a bargain, but it was so close to our hotel that we were regulars-every year for 45 years. The produce looks gorgeous. Do they have organic, local grown? Haven't been to Waikiki since March 2020 (pandemic). Thanks for the tour.
Looks like a typical large Foodland or the new Kahala MKT, but nice to have one for the tourists in Waikiki. I wonder if the prices are the same or a little higher (on expensive real estate). Probably no sales or Maika'i Card discounts and perks since they aren't using the Foodland name.
Fantastic to see the new market a question if I may why do you move the camera so fast past objects that have writing on them it’s very hard to read it on your video because you move so fast? 😎

I wish that had been open a few months ago, when we visited Waikiki in November 2022. Looks awesome. Thank you for sharing your video.
wow foodland lucked out with that space, fancy foodlands mark up a little more than the regular stores. Those hot bars look fantastic.
Aloha Luke and Cheryl, All these places opening right after we leave. First the asian food hall and now the this. Looking forward to the next trip.

Harley-Davidson Servi-Cars! Yeah I sure remember those buggahs!

Thats about the same price as ohio.

Oh how amazing to have that right in Waikiki. Fantastic addition. Is the Food Pantry also still open at Eaton Square? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another neat video Luke! It was Saks 5th Avenue that had the waterfall windows that closed in 22.
Nordstrom Rack is up the street. When I was in town a few months ago, I went in there looking for some aloha shirts. I hear that Saks is going to be replaced by a Target eventually. ABC Stores can't be too happy about that.
Ah thanks Al 🤙🏽😊
Food Pantry was the go-to ❤
Still owned by Food Pantry Ltd
Couldn’t read any of the prices!! Redo it and show the costs please

Kamaboko dip is 'ono with Keebler's clubhouse crackers. Tip: buy the dip at Costco (cheaper and bigger tub) 🤙

Didn't notice any maikai deals, but was there? Kinda figured it was owned by foodland, kinda like the Kahala Mkt. Nice place though.
Hi Luke this is Mary-Anne Swanson, I hit a wrong button and lost all my apps. etc So I hope to see you for Saturday live :)
Oh sorry that happened to you. I changed my live shows to 7am HST now. On UA-cam wed and sat. See you then
@@PhotoLukeHawaii Thanks Luke :) Yah I have to find all my favorites again and my Facebook too lol.
Fantastic to see the new market a question if I may why do you move the camera so fast past objects that have writing on them it’s very hard to read it on your video because you move so fast? 😎
Sorry if I showed all the prices of things it would make a really long video. I just wanted to show it was open and what was inside.
I was looking for the pricing of food in the market. Right now, eggs are about $4.00, and I was wondering about the price.
I think local eggs right now at the regular market is $6-$8 a dozen. Mainland eggs $4-$5. At Sams club we get 24 mainland eggs for $5.88.
WARNING: Do not watch if you’re hungry! Now I’m craving poke bowl but in a zoom meeting right now 😂
What’s your favorite food?
Was this place the old Galleria???
Oh no this is next to the Galleria. The Galleria is still there but not open for now since Covid started.
ALoHA!
Sad no Hawaiian food to be found in Hawaii.
Why are ppl wearing masks? Ridiculous.
