  • Clinton E. Miller (December 14, 1935 - Dec. 1, 2023)
Clinton E. Miller, known as “Bud” by his family and friends, born on December 14, 1935, passed away on December 1, 2023, at the age of 87. He was born and raised in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida and passed away in his weekend home on the ocean in Key Largo, Florida Keys. He is preceded in death by his parents Clinton Ray Miller and Nina Elizabeth Braswell Miller.
During his high school years at Gables High School, Bud played the clarinet and flute and often told the story of playing in the New Year’s Eve Parade in Havana in the 1950’s. These musical bonds enriched his life. In later years, he spent many evenings with friends singing and square dancing.
His proclivity for hard work and long hours led him to establish a machine shop on the Miami River. He was a lover of life's simple joys and found solace in many hobbies over his lifetime. He was an Eagle Scout, led by his father, Clinton Miller. He was an avid motorcycle and hotrod enthusiast racing at the beach tracks in Miami and Daytona. He loved the wilderness of the Everglades and spent days there camping, hunting and fishing. When his girls were young he would take them to spend the day driving Tamiami Trail out to Monroe Station while he worked on his buggy. Gardening, hunting, bee keeping, and barracuda fishing were a few more pastimes he enjoyed. Bud is survived by his 6 children: Patricia Stanley- Esslinger, (Islamorada, FL) Linda Mills (Panama City Beach, FL), Donna Rhodes (Ponce de Leon, FL), Laury Maggard (Bonifay, FL), Larisa Molloy (Barnstead, New Hampshire), and Clint Miller (Miami, FL). He leaves a beautiful legacy of 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. His sisters Betty Ann Miller Gomez and Pauline Miller Gensel also survive.
May he rest in peace, his spirit forever alive in the echoes of music and the good times he shared with family and friends.
