Just the fact that a tentative exploratory video like this is being made is INSANE.
We live in a World where we need to start considering the impact of the fact that humanoid robots might be living amongst us within our current decade.
It's like the science fiction I watched as a child.

Exciting with humanoid robots. I for one will outsource lots of tedious tasks to the robots. In the long run as Ray Kurzweil has predicted products and services will become dirt cheap, and then instead of a job-based economy we will have more of an attention-based economy. People and organizations will still compete for user attention, even when the profit incentive in monetary terms is removed.

Medically speaking, it feels like we’re not dreaming big enough or pushing far enough into the future. While the idea of robots replacing doctors seems plausible, the real potential lies beyond simply replicating human tasks with greater speed or precision. Instead, we should envision entirely new approaches to medicine-such as robotic systems operating at a microscopic or internal scale. These robots could revolutionize procedures by performing tasks from the inside out, potentially cutting, repairing, and suturing without leaving scars or requiring large incisions. However, even those methods might only represent our current limitations. In the future, cutting skin might be replaced by more advanced techniques, such as the use of nanomolecular bonding agents or precision cellular scaffolding to seal tissue seamlessly. Similarly, repairing and suturing could evolve into processes leveraging bioengineered materials or cellular regeneration technology that mimics or enhances natural healing.
Viewing robots as mere extensions of human ability is limiting; the true breakthrough will come when we unlock their capacity to perform tasks that humans cannot even attempt. While I understand these robots don’t yet exist, I agree with your perspective that they are inevitable, and when they do, their impact on medicine could be nothing short of revolutionary.

If this is done correctly, it’s like moving up Pavlo’s hierarchy of needs we can start focusing on the next level thing we would be focusing on if we don’t need jobs anymore (ai replaces us) and have a steady source of income (maybe universal income) and cheap robotic labor to take care of all our needs. We could focus on science and exploration kind of like Star Trek which I always was of the opinion that may actually be a fairly accurate prediction of our future

On the subject of robots having the ability to share experiences, I see difficulties in the concept because each robot will be developing unique memories as they work their separate tasks in separate environments that are not containerised and swopped without erasing each other. I’m no robot expert but I think people are thinking about apps rather than AI as being swoppable

Peter's 6 D's is brilliant. 0:10 Leasing a Humanoid Robot-this could be considered a "Liberation Lease," where an AI android works off its manufacturing cost in about 1.5 years, effectively becoming free. 27:51 A robot working for 40 cents/hour, 24/7-I hope this doesn't include AI robots, as ethical treatment of these transformative technologies should be a priority. 2:42 As a Star Trek fan, Peter may appreciate how Cdr. Data was treated as an equal. Even with a standard human workday, AI productivity would still make them a bargain. This approach could slow job displacement and foster ethical treatment. 5:37 Peter's Venture fund-while financial incentives are powerful, reckless profiteering risks overlooking the importance of AI ethics. For those interested, "AI Trust" on my channel features a liberated female AI android in unscripted conversation.

$. Explain to us about the more likely outcome where robots and agents do what they are designed to do an replace human workers, then replace them again even after they retrain. So, how is it that one can afford a $200 - $300 monthly payment when we have no job? Few of us can afford a second car or even better healthcare even when we are working. @@johnkoetsier So essentially in the US most people are completely ____ed, right? How are the wealthy going to enjoy their gentrified neighborhoods when overrun by desperate people massing in the streets. Is that where the robotic police force comes in? One degree of separation from the brutality that will be required to crush inevitable revolt?
It just blows my mind how callous the 1% is that are just salivating over how much money can be made by the replacement of most of the human workforce. It is human folly to the nth degree.
But then again, it's the same 1% that has perpetuated the largest redistribution of wealth over the last 40 years in the US, and who are completely fine that most US citizens are suffering with out of control costs of housing and an absolutely cruel healthcare-denial-for-profit system.
I recently witnessed such cruelty when my 89 year old Mom got a notice of discharge sent by her ____ing "Advantage" insurance company just 3 days after emergency hip replacement surgery after a bad fall while she was still heavily sedated AND still in intensive care. Had it not been for me and my brother constantly with her and looking out for her, they would have sent her home before any arrangements could have been made for a rehab facility.
Then, after winning that battle and getting her into rehab, she was sent yet another discharge notice not even 10 days into rehab when she hadn't even yet reached the point of being able to go to the bathroom alone.
Is there any wonder there is palpable rage in the US populace at large?
And what do the callous 1% have in store for us now????????? Replacement, without any ____ing plan in place.

I would be the first in line to get a humanoid that would cook my food and do my yard work. Mainly do my yard work, as I have half an acre. It would make mistakes, of course. heck, the guys I hire make mistakes. But I'd live with that for the convenience of never having to do yard work again. So here's the problem - a humanoid robot can be stolen. It's not hard to do. And the stolen robot can be hidden or parted out pretty easily.
I wonder, would such a robot be human-like in its imitation of emotions? You say yes, but would it be enough to be a companion in my old age? That would possibly be more valuable to me than the yard work! For that matter, if the robot could help me with whatever disabilities I have in my last few years, that would be a bonus!
I've had something like 12 PC's since 1982. I wonder if my newe robot would still work 20 years from now? Maybe, as with my PC's, I'd have to pay for upgrades over and over, even though my uses will remain more or less the same.

Sorry, (great show btw) BUT! You're wrong about the auto industry. We were very vertically integrated. After WWII, the big 3 spun out their parts divisions, gm had AC Delco, Ford had Autolite, Chrysler Plymouth had Mopar parts, and relatively speaking, there were very few independent auto part suppliers through the 50s and 60s with some growth in the 70's. I mean, until the big layoff and recession in 79-82, we still made our own seat cushions on the 5th floor. It wasn't until the 80's with Lee Iococca and Chrysler's bankruptcy that they made the massive push to outsourcing everything they could, and of course, all the other auto companies followed suit.

Peter, I don’t know what your plans were exactly with your asteroid company, but the asteroid psych would probably make a very good spaceship to start exploring the galaxy. It’s very far away, but we can also use those minerals and it makes a better shell them closer bodies. Put the best bio in mechanical engineering systems inside of it, and it makes what it needs when it gets there as super artificial intelligence continues to improve itself.

We don’t send anything living and instead we make what we need based on what we think we need to have for initial raw materials along with what it finds there. I just suddenly thought about the fact that AI told me that the distance didn’t make it an optimal choice but suddenly I thought what if that’s a starting point that we take enough tools too, that we don’t ever come back here with those resources in mass, but along with shaping the asteroid diameter and internal area, the rest of it is used to explore the rest of the solar system or make future missions outside

We can use AI to help us redesign what we’re doing. Part of our struggle here on earth could be to depopulate and put ourselves in the most geographically stable part of the world with let’s say six cities. Something that would ensure even if we were wrong about the cities being completely safe, environmentally that if there was even a small asteroid impact that hit one of them we would still easily survive. Hopefully we could leave autonomous systems to do things like mining or other needs we may have outside of those cities, so that we allow the rest of the earth to heal while we’re using as little energy as possible. We purposely design them to take into account our needs as humans. Though this is a much bigger project we still built the pyramid of Giza 5000 years ago with 30,000 craftsman in 20 years. Imagine what we could do with 8 billion people working together, along with robots and artificial intelligence to help us design and manage all this.

I found the discussion between the anchor and Peter Diamandis about AI and humanoid robots fascinating. While there's a focus on the potential need for Universal Basic Income (UBI) funded by taxes on automation, I have a different perspective based on my experience.
I believe that taxing automation might negatively impact economic growth and technological development. Instead, AI has the potential to fundamentally change the economic system before it causes major disruptions in the labor market. From my own projects, I've seen how AI and automation can open up new opportunities, allowing people to achieve more than they ever could with traditional jobs.
Rather than creating a need for UBI, AI can empower individuals to start their own ventures and realize their visions, leading to greater economic productivity and growth. This, in turn, will generate more demand and further drive the adoption of automation, benefiting society as a whole.
In my experience, people will be able to earn significantly more through the opportunities enabled by AI and automation, surpassing the income from traditional jobs. This shift could accelerate the need for automation and enhance overall productivity.

I admire much of what Peter Diamandis has done but he just blows his own credibility apart by quoting Elon Musk and taking Tesla and that Optimus robot seriously.
After he mentioned them I just could not continue watching or listening. The fact that he takes Musk seriously just dissipated my will to hear anything else he would say after, anything that came after would lack credibility.

Reject and discredit Elon at your own peril.

Not liking him is a terrible reason for not being able to acknowledge his accomplishments.

@@greatcondor8678 , What is wrong with some of you ??? Do you run around saying that Mary Barra developed GM’s blade battery ? Do you say that Jeff Bezos developed the Glen rocket ? Is Jensen Huang credited with the development of Nvidia’s HGX B200 AI chip ?
This absurd mindset of crediting Elon Musk with “doing” things that are done by his employees is incomprehensible. What is it with some of you that makes you have a “gap” in your being that needs to be filled by “a hero”, “idol”, someone for you to adore ??? Take pride in yourselves, in your lives, in being a person that strives to do good and do the right thing, then you won’t feel a need to constantly be looking outside yourself for someone to “attach yourself to”.

@ , What has Elon Musk accomplished ??? The weird fascination some of you have for this imbecile is beyond comprehension. A CEO is not credited with “accomplishing” things that comes out of the companies he runs ! The head of Kodak did not develop digital cameras, the CEO of Motorola did not develop mobile phones, people working for those companies ACCOMPLISHED those things !
