You DON'T need to tap into the reverse light... That's kinda the whole point of this model specific unit. There's a direct signal/connection in the harness for the reverse camera, just plug that in and you're good to go. You also don't need to remove the bumper to do a clean install.
@alinduplea IMO the much cleaner way - dont have to take out nearly half the stuff in the boot or bumper that he does in this video, and no wire tapping All clean, inside the car connections: Required: -6mm or 8mm blue crimp connectors (i used round 6mm) -Drilling -Crimping & Grounding red & black wire to any unpainted metal bolt behind tail light -Just take out spare tire in your trunk and anything in the way, including the piece he pulls out at 4:26 -Pull out the "Turn to open" hatch and empty it if your jack is inside. -Now, at that point you should have all the access you need. Drill a hole from inside the trunk on the metal that is in-line with the slot above your license plate (or closest you can get, it will be fine because you can see and reach this very easily from underneath the car - even if its off by an inch, you will have just enough short-end cable length) Once drilled just feed the plugs from the unplugged dash cam through the license plate slot ensuring it doesnt go inside the bumper (lol) - you can pop your head underneath your cars front end end feed the unplugged cable inside the drilled hole, inside the trunk, making the cleanest connection and is quite easy :) Tip: seal the hole after with some silicone or similar
@@Tradie1 Thanks for the tips! I just ordered mine, so I haven't taken a run at it yet. I'll check back in after I do if I have anything to add to your write up.
7:14 To note. Don't just stuff the wires behind the pillar if you have airbags (which given the stamp on it, you appear to). The wire could prevent the airbag from deploying.... or worse. Disconnect the battery (so the airbag doesnt mistaking go off while your working on it), then take the pillar cover off completely (you'll need to pull it out a bit, and undo the retaining "strap" to get it completely off). Then run and zip-tie the wire to the existing wire harness BEHIND the airbag.
Hi, has it got a system voice assistant? Can you call it pressing a steering wheel button? When mirroring your phone, can you do the same with Siri/Google assistant?
Just what I was looking for. Seems a bit complicated for me to install the rear camera and especially since mine is a sedan trunk but I'll keep this module in mind for my 2011 sGT. Thanks for the video!
@ColtonRichter Awesome video I have the android Apple CarPlay 12 head unit in my Mazda 3 2007, works perfect it’s so nice makes your car feel newer and look better’ But I was wondering if you can make a video about the 7 Color Series Triple Gauge Package for 2004-2009 Mazda 3 I’ve asked last time been trying to get it jsut don’t know how to set It All up
@@ColtonRichter May I ask why how come, it says it will fit it will be a cool process of setting it all up please there’s so many different options you can choose from and it would be a really cool sweet mod for interior looks and you don’t see any other Mazdas with it. That’s all I’m asking.
I have the same radio but I don’t know why the backup camera don’t show the right side, do you know how can I flip side, pls thx !! The screen shows me the sides swapped.
I have a question I purchased a radio similar to this one for a 04-14 Mazda 6 but after I did the installation my ac button doesn’t work so it won’t turn my ac on I install everything how I was supposed to do can you please help buddy I really appreciate it thank you in advance
@ appreciate the reply. A few of the connectors were slightly bent so I just had to take a screwdriver to them to straighten and wiggle the pieces into place. It’s now connected and working great!
Looking to upgrade my own head unit and this is on the list of options, only thing that I cannot seem to find an answer on: When using Apple car play is there Bluetooth lag, and if so can you quantify it?
I have all my music saved on a flash drive and use the "iPod" setting to listen to my music. Can I still play music from the flash drive or is it different? I'm not downloading it all on the unit itself
Great video! I’ve seen very mixed reviews on these! Some people swear by the eonon and others say it’s garbage. Glad to see it looks like this newer model is actually pretty decent. I’m going to need to upgrade my head unit soon and I’m debating how whether to get one of these or to wait for a decent sale for a Sony unit I’d love to see an update in a few months to see if it’s still good without any issues!
Hey! I'm also looking to replace my original stereo. I guess you need to buy an adapter for that Sony unit you mentioned, isn't it? It all should be the same during installation or do you think it's going to requiere soldering and stuff like that? I have 0 knowledge in electronics but a Sony or Pioneer unit seems like a really good choice.
@@BacavoitSony isn’t gonna be a plug and play unless you buy extra hardware for it, which makes it even more expensive. I might end up sticking with one of these just to save some money and for ease of install
I think Eonon is for a certain crowd and that goes for any head unit, everyone is looking for a specific thing and I feel like Eonon is that all-in-one package for most!
just received the same unit and will be using your vids as a reference guide
Sweet, hope you enjoy!

Hey, can you please explain how you did a clean install without removing the bumper? Thanks!
I would also love to hear your additional tips on the install since I'm about to tackle this myself

Nice vid as always! I’m still on the Android 10 one in my gen 1, time to upgrade!
Treat yourself ✌🏻
Congrats on 30 k subs dude. Keep the awesome content coming.
Thanks dude ✌🏻
Glad I got to see the beast in the wild today!! Loving this build!!🎉

Sedan trunk I recall it being a little quicker, same harness location less to remove!

bought this for my mazda3 as well bc i saw your video. unfortunately my reverse camera doesnt work once installed. keeps saying no signal :((
Make sure you've plugged it into the right input!
Great vid as always, want to upgrade my factory head unit soon.
You've been saying that forever! 😂
Nice video bro its fun to watch you modify ms3 gen 2
Glad you enjoy!
REPLY TO THIS PLEASE:
Really appreciate it bro. Can it support 2 dash cams front and back?
It might just be one, please contact Eonon to confirm!
Hey! where did you put your GPS box and stuff like that? just behind the radio??
Normally the GPS box should be placed on the roof, i've attached it by the mirror where you'd place a dash cam!
Awesome content. Really nice clean fit.🎉🎉🎉
Cheers Jerry ✌🏻
Hey, everything is fine but I’m short on the power cable for the backup camera did you do something to extend it? (I have a sedan truck)
Just run extra wire off the existing wire.

Reach out to Eonon support if you`re having any issues with your unit!
Does OEM Bluetooth still work with this new headunit? What call quality like?
No, this uses its own Bluetooth system.

Anyone else have an issue where the power unit cable will not fit with the Mazda3 2008 cable coming from the dash?
Never heard of this?

Glad to hear! They can also sometimes be a little stiff as well and tricky to connect.

I wouldn't say so, changing songs and everything is pretty much instant.

How do i get to apple car play on it? I have this installed in my car!
Connect your phone with Bluetooth and select the CarPlay app :)

Yes it looks like by USB connection you can play music from your flash drive.
My Mazda mps is a 2009 model but it’s a second gen Bl. Will this work? Assuming it should as it’s a 2nd gen
Yep!
yooo 30k! lets go
