This was broadcast on BBC not live but a while later. I was 11 and mum and I watched this laying on the settee, her at one end and me at the other. It was quite cold as we had a quilt over us as we watched and by the end of this song we were in absolute floods of tears! I’ve loved this song ever since and mum often used to tell that story to people. It was embarrassing enough when I was 11 but when I had my mates around to watch the football, boy that was fun for a 22 year old man I can tell ya! 😳
