- Chapter 1 meeting S. K. Mullarpattan one of the main Nisargadatta's translators.
In 2006 Stephen Wolinsky proposed the idea of traveling to India and filming Nisargadatta Mahara’s translators and disciples and explore what was the legacy Maharaj left behind in his hometown, Mumbai.
In 2007 Zaya and Maurizio Benazzo together with Stephen Wolinsky, Philip Safarik and Fred Good traveled to India to shoot this film.
The meeting with the old devotees was both illuminating as well as deeply touching.
Over the next seven and a half years, we all plugged away, going through mounds of material allowing this project to reach completion.
The film you are about to see cannot demonstrate the amount of work that went into this project….but let’s simply say that finally it is complete…J
Nisargadatta did not leave an ashram; he did not leave any teachings, nor successors. This movie is homage to him; a look at his unintended legacy from people that have been inspired by him more then words can express.
Nisargadatta to Mullapatran - Forget me. You forget my teachings. don't make me a deity and do puja for me. You follow what needs to be followed. sit quietly and just watch the minds and thoughts.
"Sit quietly and just watch the minds and thoughts. Don't quarrel or judge nothing. Slowly thoughts will subside and go in to sort of stillness. That alert stillness is the linking with the absolute!"
You are full of concepts. Your body is a concept. Your arrival to the world is a concept.
Leave all concepts.

You can see so many who live in abject poverty, yet there is joy radiating in their faces... I lived in Bombay (Mumbai now) till i was 26 years old... I will never forget that phenomena.... It is so uniquely Indian. I am deeply appreciative of your fine depiction of the "Legacy of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj".
How can you say there are no more people like that anymore? I know he is freed of his human mind so for him it is not an effort to give his time to some one. There are so many great souls like Nisargadatta on this planet, all living in love and giving that love to whomsoever can receive it. 🙏
I talked to a devotee of Baba Neem Karoli and he said the same thing
about his guru. He couldn't imagine another being with that amount
of Grace. You're right, but for me I can't equate any god or godman
with Maharaj either.. He was so unique
The masters words are still echoed in the hearts of his devotees.

I suggest to use the term 'Awareness' instead of consciousness (as used within the 'I am that' dialogue books of Sri Nisargadatta) to refer to the nothingness due to the widespread of the use of the term consciousness applied in the western world for the Self or the 'ego'' as Freud would use. It can be confusing. Anyhow, great teachings. Exited to live this time on earth and live spiritually this way

Very nice, thanks for this video;s about Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. Mullarpattan always makes me smile too. Nisargadatta and he, well they were quitte a duo. Better said non-duo.

There is the state of conscious awareness. When you reach that State, stay there. You will go Beyond. This is the Two States. Two must become one. You will flip between conscious awareness and the Final State. That, is Non-Dualism.
