My current car is a Gt charger. 305hp is plenty . I’ve owned a RT and Scat Pack Challenger. And to be honest the Scat wasn’t as fast as I thought it would be , and it’s very expensive.
Unless you’re at the track or the autobahn there’s no need to be going 160mph +. Most of the expressways are under construction here with horrible traffic . Also if the cops catch you going 90mph+ they can take your car . It’s not worth it going that fast . Nobody in person cares about what you drive. Only the people in the comments seem to care lol.
effortlessly gliding at an average speed of 170-180 km/h . that's the beauty of a dodge when combined with a v6 engine

Nice run! Challenger GT AWD is truly a very nice package. Fully agree with your comments below; she is great looking, comfortable, spacious, definitely not slow in traffic (despite the basic engine she takes off way better than any usual European car) and the AWD makes the car well behaving on winter roads. More a classy cruiser than muscle car - let's leave this for the V8 trims for sure. I am biased as I am enjoying every mile in 2020 GT AWD. Greeting from Prague:-)

I've lived in Germany and this Challenger with it's V-6 305 hp engine is plenty enough for the autobahn. By the way, nice video too.

It is amazing how well a small engine with only 6 cylinders and normally aspirated can perform so adequately. With the limiter taken off this should be at the very least a 140mph+ vehicle. Considering the weight of this car that is quite good.
I have 2014 chrysler 300C 3.6L (same engine) and i hit over 150 mph on german autobahn :) it could hit 155 or 160 mph too no problem, but better without awd version
It is actually not that amazing and there is like others have mentioned many other cars with similar "small" engine that performs better. What is amazing about the Challenger however, is the looks. Compared to other modern classics like the Charger, Mustang and Camaro I think the Challenger looks the best and looks the most classic.

Happy to see the GT let loose. I drive the 2017 Challenger GT AWD with a Borla Atak exhaust system and cold air intake to help with MPG and a little extra HP. I think last time I checked it was at 315. But I live in San Diego, so California laws keep me from really going nuts on customizations. All around a great commuter family car and super comfortable on long trips. I recommend this as a dad car, as it keeps all the looks and feel of a Challenger, but the lower HP keeps you out of trouble. ;)

It's a good car but I think most of people interested on this model will choose the V8 because this engine is really amazing and sounds glorious.....good test!!!!
for me is V6 good because ok Tax price and fuel consumption, 300 HP is enough :) power and fuel consumption ratio is good with 3.6L engine, i had 5.7L V8 Charger, it was bit high fuel consumption and expensive tax.

Nice car, but if u dont plan to go to some guy that is into chiptuning and is able to remove the 211Km/h max-speed software limitation u dont need to buy it since unfortuneatly other cars with less hp and smaller engines are obviously faster and maybe even more fuel efficient on top of it

Never drove an American car but im considering; Do you feel the stiffness and strength of the quality while driving like the 5 series or E class or is it a squeaky plastic ride? Do the back seats have enough space? How does the steering do?

hey thanks for your comment and questions. Normally people say US cars are crap and yes they are not as perfect as some german cars however many american cars still have a soul and while they dont handle as stiff like on rails as some of europes finest they have come a long way aswell and are not as far behind as you may think compared to german rivals for example. The quality in the inside is not perfect but especially with dodge and chrysler products i feel like they are still really good and much better bang for buck. While US cars use many soft materials and soft leather or leatherette many german cars use cheap plastic while still charging a lot of money. We love some Audis BMW's and Mercedes but the Challenger or Charger or Chrysler 300 is definetely a good choice aswell. The V6 is very reliable and quite fuel efficient if you are really trying to be. However it is definetely more a cruiser than a very sporty powerful car especially with this weight. If you want crazy Power get the Hellcat or Demon if you can. We drove the Sweetspot Scatpack in Charger form (with 4 doors) and we absolutely loved it!

Buy better RWD version, less fuel consumption than AWD version. I own 2014 chrysler 300 3.6 v6 and mostly average fuel is 8-9 liter combined, on highway up to 120 kmh i have 7.5 liter average. In city is over 12 liter
Everyone always says American muscle car.....the charger, challenger and 300 are made at the Brampton plant in Ontario, Canada.

Limiter 211km/h?
I think it is because of special US rule or something, for Police Pursuit that cops cars are faster in wide open empty highway. At normal US cars (include Audi, BMW, Mercedes) are limited at around 190-215 kmh, sport cars like challenger R/T or over 350 hp cars are limited around 230 or so, and cars with over 450 hp or more are unlimited. Like Camaro SS or Challenger Scat Pack i did drove over 270 kmh
I’ve hit 134 mph
I had one before I traded it in for a scat. Same exact year too. My top speed was 134 maybe could of gone faster.
Also mpg is a lie. Expect 11-14 city.
I have a 2018 gt but I'm capping mph on the highway at 114mph. What's causing this? Is there a governor or something from factory capping the computer?

How harsh is the ride? Cause most of reviewers say that 3.6 is surprisingly comfy, but I see that camera is shaking quite a bit.
challenger was really very comfy, more comfy than mustang or camaro, why it was shaking in video because it was filmed with Hypersmooth 2.0 at Gopro Hero 8 Black, and the road was bit bumpy

Why does my V6 challenger GT 2019 top out at 130 it gets up to 130 so quick then just stops accelerating
Has a limiter on the motor, the chip stops it at 130 mph.
You need a PCM unlock and a tune to remove the top speed limiter.

Most likely does, most limiters can be disabled and you can also buy computers that tell the ecm to change fuel ratios for better performance

it has limiter, without limiter you can hit 250-255 no problem, i had tested chrysler 300 with 3.6 same engine and i hit limiter at 242 kmh, without sure 250-255

@3:40 it already red lines at 211 km/h and cannot go further? This is actually a slow car for the Autobahn, you don"t even need V rated tyres for this, H rated tyres will do fine, which is actually good because it is cheaper to run (insurance, TÜV, etc.). I like it.

@@kadencrocetti8861 I would guess that the computer limits the speed, and I would further guess that this was imposed by German regulators for such a car. American cars aren’t designed for Autobahn speeds.

It is due to the cheap tires that are sold with the US cars usually. The limiter is set at the speed the tires are rated at. Its usually that simple.

@@marcohinojosa4348 Depends on wheel size for the price, But few cars are sold in the US that run to V-Max stock. Last car I owned that was not limited electronically was a 96 Geo Metro (92 Mph ) Everything else since bounces off a limiter annoyingly at the speed the stock tires speed rating stated. So by cheap, I meant instead of buying tires that exceed the ability of the car, they simply dial back the speed to save money on a item that they have to buy in bulk.

Decent speed for a big car with the small engine.
"small engine" is for us. For EU small engine is 1.2 liter or 1.4 liter. Though we even have smaller engines for compact cars like 0.9 turbos. 2.0 liter is normal engine and anything over 3.0 is decently big engine. 4.0 is HUGE

0 - 100 kmh for 6.4 sec. seems insanely bad for a car with 3.6L V6 & 305 HP ..expected a little bit more. I read comment from someone saying it pulls better then the european cars on the traffic light... I guess that was a joke, cuz especially BMW, Mercedes, Audi got better 6 cylinder engines. I don't want to sound like a hater, but thats my opinion, for engine with that size & power + AWD ..it seems slow. My old wreck Audi A4 B7 with 2.0 tfsi (197-200hp) engine does 0-100kmh for 7.2 sec. So someone saying this thing pulls better then European cars seems laughable. It's definately super nice looking car - thats why I'm looking into this video. Both exterior & interior are super nice, but I expected more from the engine. Thanks for the video!

Diese Dodge Challenger hat US papiere für US military in Deutschland, deswegen sind viele US autos in Amerika abgeregelt. Hab 2014 chrysler 300C mit gleiche motor ist bei 242 kmh abgeregelt. Laut forum viele haben limiter entfernt und über 260 kmh erreicht, da ist zafira nicht schneller 😏

This dodge challenger has governed limiter, i cant faster than 135 mph, unless i must remove limiter, but this vehicle belong to dealer. I have other car with same engine and its chrysler 300 3.6 pentastar, i hit over 150 mph and soon i want try stage 1 tune and maybe hit over 160 mph
