Haha I ended up uninstalling msfs months ago. The only thing it has going for it is the scenery imho, but the planes look like plastic and fly like plastic too. For me flight sims are about the planes, and x-plane just does planes better. and with just a few [mostly] free mods, x-plane looks pretty darn convincing to me 😊
I found the default xplane 11 night lighting to be beautiful. I just completed my first flight in xplane (Zibo 738 KATL-KIAH 2.5 hours, all night flying. however, seeing the screenshot you had of that lighting solution looked so much better. Can't wait to go fly with it now

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for flight realism, then X-Plane is the way to go. If you like to see pretty scenery, then MSFS is the way to go. My opinion at this point in time.

My number one add-on that’s not an airport or aircraft- x-coder’s AEP (airport enhancement package). Transforms every default airport-buildings and all-not just the ground textures. Best $20 I’ve spent in the sim! Second- the combination of REP and simaccoustics fmod sound pack for the default Cessna 172.
Xplane with OrbX is BETTER than MSFS. In realism, immersion and beauty. Story: I bought all three UK OrbX for Xplane, and then only a few days later Microsoft released MSFS. I was gutted. I got hyped for MSFS for a few weeks in the 'honeymoon' period then soon realised even my brand new PC I bought for it couldn't provide enough useable FPS for VR. It can also look quite ugly sometimes (open up Las Vegas and see what I mean). I went to DCS for a long time. Then a couple of weeks ago I decided to give Xplane a go again. My goodness is it good. Nothing beats it for balance of VR FPS and hand placed buildings and trees: I'd rate it roughly equal with MSFS for buildings but at much more useable performance. The atmosphere and hazing is better too. But of course the big bonus is all the study level aircraft. I wish I wasn't locked to the UK though. One day if I have some spare money I'll get some US regions too.
As always, thank you for this material. ;-) I have a question for people using X-Vision and VR. Does this add-on improve the image of clouds in VR - I mean rotating clouds when approaching them and flickering ??? I wonder if it makes sense to buy x-Vision?

I have been cosidering True Earth for a while now, but I am wondering: is 16GB RAM enough it, if not for the HD versions would it work with the SD versions ?
Make sure you have the latest version of the scenery manager. Also make sure brakes are set and beacon light is off. Try changing the parking spot without existing xplane.
Does anyone know a pushback app that allows you to ghost your plane where you want it pushback too and it does it automatically? Capt Canada uses it in his videos?
considering to reinstall xplane with these visuals. msfs crashing to desktop is begging to piss me off. 3 times tonight and crashing after a few minutes. I spent more time waiting for it to load then flying. :/
There are addons, plugins and mods in this video. I will not argue with you, but nothing misleading here. Those are the items I use to make x-plane looks the way it does. You can call them anything you like =)

I just wish there would be a AI ATC like in Msfs 2020 telling me the qnh and what the next frequency is when i´m leaving airspace. I don´t have any desire to play on Vatsim or something like that, but I really miss having ATC. The one that comes with x plane 11 isnt any good, sending me into mountains or telling me to go to 15000ft in a cessna.
@@jusanterre_ Maybe I didn´t set it up correctly and I have not used it in quite some time. Coming from Msfs2020 its very different and most people just tell you to avoid it. I just wish there would be an option to use it without a flightplan even though its not that realistic, I dont need vectors I just want to fly on my own but still get get frequencies and the qnh. Like the basic Atc you have in Msfs2020.

MSFS is an absolute disaster. The world looks great. End of list.
This makes me feel better about having a Mac.. X-plane is the only option.
Even a year later, still the case. Quick, easy example... Do you need right rudder on takeoff in a 172? MSFS: no. X-Plane: yes.

Hi Bill, If you don't max out the texture slider, non of these addons will tax your memory (VRAM) that much.
very well explained, but I whish x-atc chatter would have a free version or at least another addon LIKE atc chatter that is free.

Yes they do. librain is the only plug-in I have an issue with (the developer stopped about 2 years ago, so that is a loss, but the only one)

As a 99% hardcore XP11, sceneries are where MSFS kills XP11. If MSFS wasn't such a bulky software, I'd be on MSFS most of the time.

What about the weather? Xenviro is not compatible with xvision.. are you using default clouds?
I am using xVision clouds. No xenviro. For weather generation, I use xplane default.

I would argue that Addons are not the same as Plugins. These are addons. Maybe a change of title would be less misleading?

15000ft? Looks like you didn’t set the fight altitude when setting up your flight. Also, it tells you what freq to contact when you leave an airspace.
