"Little Richie"
(How can we know Love when we were never shown it?)
Little Richie was the runt of the litter, given a thick hide by father and brothers. Identified more with his sisters and mother, always felt a bit different from the others. A loving marriage from the outside, but oh, how ferociously he'd hit her. Richie stood by the bleach white bedside. Ma held his face in her hands while he cried:
"Hush, now, precious lamb, everything will be alright. I know how it looks but I swear he's a good man. Oh baby, G-d has a much bigger plan. I have my family, I have my health, and I'm quite content with that."
"How can you say this time that it'll be alright? How can you still look in his eyes and see the love of your life?"
(He works all things for good! In the end, it's Love that wins!) Love was his inclination. Belief, his dearest passion. A beautiful escape from resentment, fear of the next crushing blow. (How can we know Love when were never shown it?) He'd wait on his lonesome for that blue hair in her station wagon. Attending those Baptist services alone, in the house of the Lord, he found purpose and a home. Richie stood on a chair, peeked over the pulpit, reminded himself and the beloved, not lacking in youthful wit:
"This is what's promised: He works all things for good! In the end, it's Love that wins!"
How are we to know how to Love when every attempt is met with the back of a hand? It would only be Love to mend the damned, who never grew to know compassion. Just another unfortunate, beaten sense-less by his ol' man.
"How can you say this time that it'll be alright? How can you still look in his eyes and see the love of your life? (He works all things for good! In the end, it's Love that wins!) An heirloom passed down before its day, legacy came violently to rip innocence away.
I love how BAAO isn't afraid to try new sounds. They will forever be my favorite band.

This album represents a whole other level of song writing and production that you have come to anticipate from BAAO albums, but then it still boggles your mind how they just keep making great music!

Being As An Ocean's lyrics are simply astonishing. They always make me go on an inner journey. Can't wait until June. I like their new vocal style and new sounds btw.

They have this tune thats so melodic yet hardcore, you just tend to float in each lines of their song every verse, every word, ever strum, and become a being as an ocean.
being as an ocean are honestly my favorite band, they're music is so beautiful and meaningful. i love them so much.

A friend just recommended these guys to me today and in just a few hours I've played almost all of their songs on repeat and really felt so emotional through the whole thing. The lyrics are all amazing and thought provoking and I love it. That's a rare quality these days. I'm very excited to hear more from them.
Being As An Ocean is one of those bands that puts out music that takes about 15 listens to really let it sink in and start enjoying.

Like I said on Facebook I'll say here , you guys and dance gavin dance will forever be my cherished bands , I love how each album you release focuses on a different element of the band , even if it's not intentional , 1st album = amazingly unique hardcore guitar. 2nd= beautiful spoken word and lovely ambience , now this , jazzy af and it seems more based on your vocals .. Amazing
