I have very bad Multiple Sclerosis. My best friend ( brother) would know I wasn't feeling well come over and play this for me. He died December 1st. He was meant to be here. I miss him.
Music can take you away from negative feelings. Greg Lake was unbelievable in concert. Now that he is gone, I have to look back & feel lucky to have seen him perform. Music can soothe the soul and can give reasons to carry on
RIP Keith Emerson (November 2, 1944 - March 11, 2016), aged 71 And RIP Greg Lake (November 10, 1947 - December 7, 2016), aged 69 You both will be remembered as legends.

If ever there was a song that is truly timeless... Way back when, I was driving back to college in the winter. I had smoked a joint and soon found myself heading into a snowstorm; this song came on the radio. The entire experience was surreal. The song forever reminds me of winter and falling snow.
@rocketrudolf3854 So true. Greg Lake had so much success as a singer, songwriter and guitarist with King Crimson, ELP and solo. Was so shocked when Greg and Keith passed away in the same year.
@claudettenicholson5183 Thanks. I know that era gets a lot of criticism for some of its music and fashion (polyester suits anyone?), but I truly believe the decade of the 1970s, especially the early part, produced the greatest, most inspired music in rock history. From the Beginning is a perfect example.

Same here. Our generation had such great music , ELP. ELO. Robin trower, Elton John , Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The doors, Fleetwood Mac, Cat Stevens , Jim Croce Kansas , Peter Frampton, Steve Miller, Thin Lizzy, Rush, Mamas & the papas, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones it just goes on and on. No other generation in our lifetime will be able to experience that many master artists in a 60 year span.

That was cool, and severely fuck'n cold! LOL.. I will miss these three phenom musicians and their extraordinary craftsmanship in music. THANK YOU!! God bless you too.
Emerson Lake Palmer probably one of the most underrated bands of the 1970s. Not even in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. But yet listen to this music and hear for yourselves. Musicians extraordinaire!! They take you places...❤

Yes, it sure is.. This song takes me back to traveling on the road going to my next gig.. We’ve always had this tape and Fragile ( Yes) on the player.. most of my friends are passed away..😢
A song of forgiveness and aceptance inner and outer, sitting alone on a pacific northwest coast sunset. "Whatever was done is done" like when the levee breaks "Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good". Because in the end the only forgiveness that matters is the forgiveness that you give and accept is to yourself.

My first ELP album. I learned to play this on guitar and I sang along with it. Even sang, "you see it's aw cleeya..." I was so cool. Anyway, I became a drummer, met Carl Palmer in NY--no not a fan thing--a business thing. Got his address and for years sent him birthday cards in Tenerife until I lost his address. None of that matters I just love talking about ELP. Love those guys.
