Statues are just mere representations akin to images or pictures in your phone or photo album. The proper term for the loving action and high recognition accorded to the Virgin Mary is hyperdulia on account of her role in salvific history. And as for the rest of saints, martyrs and the like - it's dulia or plain veneration. I'm agnostic. I just love studying about religions and philosophies.
It is not worshipping but venerating Mama Mary and other saints. We ask her help to pray for us. Same that we ask all the angels & saints to pray for us. It is just the same when we ask people to help us pray when we need to ask a favor from our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. Kungbaga, sila ang prayer warriors natin in heaven. Above all we worship God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. 😊
