I agree at some points, but we cant be sure they didnt do everything you said not on the camera, otherwise the video wouldve been like 30 min long or more.
Awesome work! Genuine WW2 weapons are beautiful no matter which side they came from! It would be intriguing to find out where this weapon was used in battle..a local gun range has an MP40 you can rent to shoot..they said it was recovered in Berlin before it was brought to the USA after the war.. I've shot it a few times and it's an incredible piece of history
@@Irusssska Probably, but the welding to "fix" the pitting on the barrel/action was on the outside............the inside was probably just as bad, and it isn't worth risking injury by subjecting it to high pressure. But I'd love to have it hanging over a fireplace.
I want to do that. But I need a subject too work with but I can't seem to find one. I love the old k98k. The a1 garand as well. Both such iconic rifles. Where do you find them all?
Hate to be that guy but yeah this was no good. Even the easiest things to not screw up….(inside of all K98K stocks were all UNstained). It’s either a wall hanger or a liability.
For a Rifle in this condition, after the Brass Brush treatment, a Bath in a solution of Sugar Cane Molasses mixed with water, at a rate of 1 part Molasses to 5 parts water, will clear all the Rust back to Grey Steel in a couple of Weeks. After washing down with a jet of water and further brushing, all the parts may be dismantled and the whole metalwork lightly oiled to prevent Rust. Then it can be decided how badly pitted the metal is, and whether a Re-blue is warranted. Deep pits can be TIG filled, but NO wire wheel brushing or belt finishing allowed... Fine Dremel or Air Tool for finishing welds is OK. Job on the Stock is OK. What is the Black coating? Suncorite or Cerakote ? Certainly hides the Pitting. DocAV
@steelgriffin9272 he didn't do it in the video, however he could have done it before recording. That being said, what you said has merit, because he should have shown that because some people could be doing this at home. He should have shown it because you're absolutely right it's potentially dangerous and can kill you.

Kar98 not K98, because K means Kanone and not Karabiner. The MKB 42 for example was called first MP42 later because of the Ammo to MK42, problem there MK means Maschinenkaonene, so they change it to MKB.

Excellent work but will it fire safely? You never show any shooting.
It doesn’t look like a bodge to me,looks very good!
This is not restoration this is cleaning
Is retoration cleaning oxide
Do you ever fire any of these projects, or are they simply decorations?
Wow, u made a candie out of that riffle😍
What's a riffle? Is that like when they raffle a rifle?
For what u started with its real good, as a teen i twisted the rcvr trying to remove an arisaka bbl without heat, so did a destruction test instead.
