  • In this video, Pat from Texas Freshwater Fly Fishing shows you how to tie a Rio Getter with a Peacock Herl Wing modification. The Rio Getter is one of Matt Bennett's signature flies that is very effective for Rio Grande Cichlid, River Bass, Sunfish, Carp, and more. This is a modified version of that fly. It is a great fly for the waters of the Texas Hill Country. For more information, go to: www.texasfresh...

They are excellent flies! And black is such a great color for Rios, or pretty much anything swimming around here in Texas. Super underrated. Thanks for sharing. Texas Freshwater Fly Fishing (www.texasfreshwaterflyfishing.com) is running the Year of the Rio contests this year, so you should definitely submit the pictures of your Rio for that.

Haha, yeah. I have several bobbins now. That was the very first one I ever got, and it was like that from the start. I didn't know it was wrong, so I just used it and found ways to make it useful. I now know "better" but still use that old piece of junk!
