    Very good . Tip leave the jack to support the car along with the stands if possible as added safety measure.

    Just bought a G2 set I have a black 2010 vette. Making the calipers black and the Vette letters gold! Def thought it would have been easy also. Def a project. Haha

    Fresh paint on those will look nice. I just got the G2 kit in a few days ago. Just waiting on the weather to warm up a bit since I don't have a garage. Good job so far.

    Thanks for the video. Getting ready to replace all of my pads. Just bought a 2012 Grand Sport, that I absolutely love.
    I want to paint my calipers as well, but will probably wait for another time so I can get the important part done first without worrying about time. Thanks for the info on lifting the car up. Didn't think about using stands in that location.
    That is one clean garage! Props there. Wish I could get mine like that.
    New Sub here.

    Great video Chris. Should get rid of those chrome lug nuts, and get black, I did, makes a big difference in appearance for a small cost.

    Excellent. Project I'd like to do so just knowing what kit I need and how/where to jack the car has been really helpful. Presumably you could run the metal sander off a drill if you don't have a compressor? Looking forward to part 2! Thanks.

      I would use a corded drill if you have one. You would go through a lot of batteries with a cordless.

    Do those ramps work with the equinox?

    Just joined few days ago. Great info thank you. I was wondering what brand ramps did you buy and approx. cost? Thanks

      I got mine from Harbor Freight. I wouldn’t recommend them for a C5 Corvette. The front overhang scrapes the ramps. I would go with Race Ramps. Get the “Roll Ups”. They are $158.

    Do you absolutely positively have to use heat resistant paint on the calipers?! (I don’t drive hard or race). Thank you

    • @mycorvettelife
      @mycorvettelife  3 роки тому +2

      Yes. Even normal driving your brakes can get to around 400 degrees F.

    More time was spent cleaning up the garage, filming and buying some power tools from harbor freight than the actual painting.
