Hacienda de Cocoyoc Morelos | Haciendas in Mexico

The farm was built together with the sugar mill approximately in 1600 and was baptized as San José Cocoyoc, in 1698. At the time it was considered one of the most important in the region, due to its 148 hectares of irrigation, a house, the chapel, the sugar mill, and also, it was one of the main sugar producers in the country.
Hacienda Cocoyoc continued to grow and prosper until the Revolution broke out in 1910, when the agrarian leader Emiliano Zapata established his headquarters in the city of Cuautla, declaring war on all the sugar estates in the country, which caused that at the end of the agrarian struggle, the lands of Hacienda Cocoyoc were divided between farmers and peasants.
In 1957, 68 hectares were acquired by a businessman, who turned an approximate 28 hectares into the first Hotel Resort in Morelos, and since then it has been known as El Paraíso de América, also honoring the name of the town of Nahuatl origin "Lugar de coyotes ", because at the entrance there is a sculpture that represents the representative animal of the area and under it is written the word" Cocoyoc ".

This important building was declared a historical monument by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), and is visited by national and international tourism due to its spectacular areas with history and a unique Mexican colonial style.
In addition to great vegetation, with its lush trees, it has aqueducts known as "stone arches", which were built since the early nineteenth century, with the purpose of bringing water from nearby sources for irrigation and with it moving a wheel that it was part of the new machinery for the sugar refinery.
The hotel has 286 rooms and suites furnished in the Mexican colonial style, with what is necessary to make your time of rest pleasant, also, the place provides its guests with rooms and lounges, a golf course, and a chapel.

El Hotel Hacienda Cocoyoc se conoce también como El paraíso de América, y actualmente es uno de los hoteles más importantes de la región y el estado, con instalaciones de gran historia que datan desde el siglo XVII, en Cocoyoc, del municipio de Yautepec de Zaragoza, en la región de Tierra Grande.
