Rafa was so unlucky at AO, 2014 especially due to.injury and relinquishing 5th set leads in 2012 & 2017. Watching 2022 just felt like it made up for his past disappointments. Vamos Rafa, a true sporting legend ❤
crazy to think, even though he hasn’t won it the most, he’s been involved in all of the most memorable matches at AO; 2009 SF and F, 2012 F, 2017 F, and 2022 F

Andy Roddick's tribute to Rafa is moving and can bring a tear. These Rafa records are likely to stay in the dimension of time: 1. Rafa did not break a single racquet. 2. Respect for one and all and ludicrously humble even when no one's looking. Jon Werthiem finds it staggering, otherworldly. 3. Apologising for winning a Grand Slam. Remember the genuine compassion for Roger at AO 2009? It cannot be replicated, not even in a film or a cartoon strip. 4. Lost 4 years to injuries. 16 chances to have amassed at least half of them if not more. Yet ends up just 2 short of Novak's 24. 5. Perhaps his tennis academy could be unmatched in terms of nourishing human values in sport. As Andy Roddick said at the end of his tribute. Rafa, we love you.
Djokovic also could have easily won more GS than he has : couldn't compete in OA 2022, Wimbledon 2020, several US open because of the covid situation... And everytime, he was the favourite. Everyone has excuses but in the end the guy with the best results is the goat. And if Nadal is injured too often, it's a sad fact but he simply cannot be considered as the best.

It's Djokovic who is the GOAT. But he is not my fav. For me it's Nadal in clay and Federer in other surfaces. Nadal and Federer never took extended toilet breaks when their opponents were winning, never started press conference after losing saying "I was not at my best today" or "nothing worked for me" to steal the credit of the opponent, did not break racquet or "Accidentally" hit ball boys, and do not have a toxic dad and fan base who attack anyone who criticise Djokovic and anyone who deny the GOAT title to Djokovic.
2022 was the most spectacular match in Rafa career. 2-0 down and down break and close to lost 3-0 set but came back to win 3-2 against Daniel with so tired match even serve for the match got broken but still can find way to win. Other player may lost the spirit. Vamos Rafa.
I got Rafa's autograph in Cincy 2011. I'll never forget that moment. There will never be another Rafa. Even just isolating the practice session, nobody practiced like him, not even close. The intensity was unmatched and the fact that his body held up to even the brutal practice sessions is a testament to his athleticism.
Rafa is the greatest of all time. All heart; all heart work; all passion and resilience in the face of adversity. Talent blended with fight and tenacity. Not even injuries could stop him from achieving all that he did...
We are very proud of him in Spain 🇪🇸 What can I say there’s not another one like him a big player a great person most important . Humility and strength of character!
It was lovely in the end, but nerve wracking to watch! The 2019 US Open final, also against Medvedev, was the same, but in reverse. Rafa was coasting through, 2 sets to love up, and then Medvedev tore through the next 2 sets, to a nail biting 5th set, which Rafa finally won.
AO22 waking up at 5am to watch the whole match will be something i will never soon forget. Thank you Rafa for everything you have done for the sport and for making me fall in love with the sport. You will forever and always be my personal hero
