  • If you do not have access to the SharePoint Admin Center - no worries. You can still access and take advantage of the Term Store (managed metadata) from the site itself. For step-by-step instructions, please also reference this article as well: sharepointmave...

    Hi there! Can I add metadata to a specific folder? Not to the entire library. I created the columns but I see them applied to upper folders as well. Thanks!

      No. Metadata applies to whole library, not specific folders

      @@SharePointMaven Thanks for answer back! :) I see, is there a way to use columns for inner folders?

      @@marialaurafont5754 No, you can't apply metadata to folders

    Hi Maven, I'm trying to create a modern wiki which i want to tag with managed meta data.
    i can add the columns to the view just fine, and i can edit the meta data from grid view from the overview where all the pages are, but when creating a new page or editing a single page, the managed meta data fields do not show up in the properties of that page...
    do you have an idea how i can achieve that?
    Thx

      Strange, they should appear. Hard for me to say without seeing the setup, etc.

    Helpful video! Question: How do you set up the hierarchy/dropdown menu?

    • @SharePointMaven
      @SharePointMaven  2 роки тому +1

      You just create sub labels in the term store

      @cryptokitty100 2 роки тому

      @@SharePointMaven Thanks! I assume that option to create sub labels is visible to people with the right permissions. I only have view only access to the term group, I can only add/delete/rename terms and delete/rename term sets.

      @@cryptokitty100 If you can add/edit/delete, then you should be able to create sub-labels. Just click 3 dots next to parent label and add term underneath

      @@SharePointMaven thank you that’s what I thought too for some reason site owners on my tenant do not have this ability. Is there a setting inside the SharePoint admin console that is required I’ve checked my personal tenant and I get the same results.
