He performed these two songs because it was his first debut songs as a soloist. As you may know or not know, ever since the lawsuit with SM, JYJ were blacklisted from appearing on Korea music/award shows. This was his first time being able to perform on an music award show since the split with TVXQ in 2010. He never got a chance to perform any of his songs during promotion when he release a single or album. Finally on August 11, 2024 he was able to perform two songs from his 4th Korean album "Glorious Day" and "I am U" which was released previously in June at Inkigayo.
Jaejoong is insanely popular in Asia. He’s an actor and writes and composes his own music. I really enjoyed this performance. One thing I liked about this AAA is they released official reaction cams of his junior artists enjoying and rocking with his performance. He’s the idols idol, someone they looked up to and followed as a role model. Him and Junsu are examples of stars who have been able maintain their popularity for over 20 years of their career.
Thank you for reaction! Jaejoong received the "Best Choice Award - Music" at this event. 'Mine' and 'One Kiss' are timeless songs of his, even though it's been over 10 years since their release, they never get old. Currently, Jaejoong has numerous solo albums both in Korea and Japan. Just recently, in June, he released a new album titled "Flower Garden," and he is now on an Asia tour. You can discover many more of his amazing musical works. I recommend a few of his rock songs, such as 'Butterfly', '9+1#' 'Breaking Dawn' 'Glamorous Sky' and some of his beautiful ballads like 'Paradise' 'Healing for Myself' 'It Is' and 'Love Covers album (Japanese song)' and many more!!
Thank you so much for reacting to Jaejoong TT He's one of the best artists of the industry and never back down despite many difficults in so many years. He's been active more and more recently and I love seeing more people get to know him/react to him because his talents definitely go beyond standard K-pop. Look forward to seeing more reaction from you guys
A month ago Bang Chan and Han actually went on Jaejoong's show (Jaefriends) and it was really fun. He always cooks for his guests and makes them feel really comfortable. I was so happy my first ever bias wrecker (Junsu was my bias) met my kids. You are literally discovering all my favourite groups these days. I started with TVXQ/JYJ in 2007 and I am also an Inspirit (a fan of Infinite) and a Stay (a fan of Stray Kids).🥰 Btw the girlgroup was Nmixx.
Omg thank you for reacting to Jaejoong. Yeah he's been active and just dropped a new album. I just went to Korea to see his concert and gosh he's my favorite singer of all time 😭
The reason why he was allowed to sing his old songs at this award show is because he has a very special status in the k-pop industry. He was part of a group called; DBSK or TVXQ/TOHOSINKI. Every member of that group is considered a legend of the genre. You can compare their popularity in their peak to BTS but probably even bigger due to the state of the k-pop industry at the time. It was a failing industry and this group (DBSK) was like a last ditch attempt at creating a successfull group. And they succeeded, as DBSK became the biggest success probably ever in the Asian music industry. They opened the door to Japan and everywhere else for future generations of k-pop artists. At some point, due to probably corruption and mistreatment, 3 members of the group(Xia Junsu, Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun) left the group somewhere around 2009 and eventually won a lawsuit against their former company. This lawsuit has been extremely important for the current generation of k-pop artist as it provides them protection from slave contracts. But they had to pay a big price for this as they were (unofficially) banned from practically all Korean TV for close to 14 years. This is why many newer international fans don't know them, but in the industry everyone knows who they are. They are basically the idols of the current idols. There's been somewhat of a change of the guard at SM. The people who are now in power there apparently don't carry a grudge anymore and have lifted the unofficial ban or perhaps they don't have as much power as they once had. So the fact that he and his members can now appear on TV and on a variety of shows again is very special. Unfortunately, his golden (20s and early 30s) years were never shown on TV and that is very sad for older fans and newer fans. Fortunately it didn't stop them from selling out arena's still just by relying on the fame and status that they've kept over the years even without TV.
Jaejoong last album release was this year in June titled Flower so yes he has a great deal of up to date songs to sing . But he chose these because it was his first time on a Korean Music Award show since 2010 . Massively over due in my opinion but we have SM to thank for that don’t we . Ps remember he’s also a legend to most of the group there as well
He’s from the group that was once the textbook example of successful kpop groups. One of his original group’s songs was literally the start of an era of kpop that defined the genre for decades. It wouldn’t be wrong to call him and his original group as the idols of the current kpop groups’ idols. (Eg a lot of newer groups talk about admiring Shinee etc but Shinee’s gen talked about admiring DBSK) DBSK is commonly considered either the very early start of 2nd gen, or the one-of-their-kind gen 1.5
If you curious about who is Kim Jaejoong then let me tell you, he's the Kpop Legend from the 2nd generation(he was the Senior of the senior between all the artist attending there),and was part of the 5 member of TVXQ(one and still the Legend Kpop Group)before, unfortunately due to some issue with their company(SMEnt), they now had to split into two,TVXQ remain with the 2 member in SM(Yunho,Max) and JYJ(Jaejoong, Yoochun,Junsu)leaving the company. But currently the 3 of them was on solo career already since there's one member get into some scandal so JYJ is unofficially disbanding as for now and actually there's too much story of their Legendary career to be speak of that i can't describe it all here,so if you're interested more hope you can make some research on them and i recommend you guys to check out their OT5 version song(TVXQ)they all got good vocal and here the reason again why they're legendary group ever exist in Kpop since they're the God of Vocal in Kpop❤❤❤❤
The fact the he and other TVXQ members are still very relevant to Kpop industry says it all. They are definitely the GOAT! Lengends!

"he's a legend to those kids" hahahahahha 100%!!! 😂 and some of those kids were not yet born at the time of TVXQ's debut in 2003 hahahahhaha
