- In this episode of 'Lottery, Dreams and Fortune', Timothy Schultz interviews lottery winner Roberto Mendoza. He won a quarter of a million dollars ($250,000) on a scratch ticket from North Carolina in 2019. In this interview, he discusses what it was like to win the lottery and how he used the winnings to feed the homeless. However, Roberto Mendoza's incredible story goes much deeper.
Born in El Salvador, Roberto grew up hungry in a war-torn country. He remembers turning on the water and witnessing air come out of the tap. He survived a kidnapping before eventually winding up in the USA where he became a renowned chef. He has cooked for movie stars, world leaders and 4 US presidents!
Roberto Mendoza is interviewed by Timothy Schultz, who is also a lottery winner and podcaster with Bullhead Entertainment, LLC. In 1999, he won the Powerball before going back to college to study journalism and broadcast news. He’s now combining his experience to launch this podcast.
This podcast has an emphasis on overcoming the odds and the belief that anything is possible. Previous guests have included the winner of the first American season of 'Big Brother', a near death-experience survivor and several lottery winners, among other guests.

I have no words to express how impressed I am.
This melts my heart.... I play the lottery but if I had a choice I'd let him win again instead of myself. If I should ever win I will contact him and help. Homeless people and orphans are two of my weaknesses. He is right about saying that it's not just feeding someone and enabling them to live another day but more than that it is showing kindness, love and compassion.
Saying, listen, I see you, I love you, you are precious... Love makes all the difference in the world. To whoever thinks he is crazy to do this... I wish we'd go crazy if this is what comes of it. And most of all, he's right about this, nothing is really truly ours anyway.
We borrow everything in this life while we walk this earth. I believe him when he says this brings him joy. It's all about energy. Why do you want to buy a fancy car, house etc.? Because they make you feel good... Well, I can imagine helping others gives you a million fold of those good vibes. Pure happiness and peace.

I once interviewed a quantum physicist who believed that love was the most powerful force in the universe and I tend to agree. It's ever powerful. It matters when we show compassion. @@TimothySchultz Oh I'm gonna try and find that interview! This reminds me of the film Interstellar where Dr. Brand says something to the effect of 'Love is the only thing that transcends/defies time and gravity' :) Also everyone who's had an NDE (near death experience) says that it's all about love.
Ofcourse, needles to say that I also believe one must guarantee their own standard of life/income before they attempt helping the world. I know the truth is, we can't really help anybody, everyone must be their own mental coach and help themselves. But gives ppl a nudge towards the right direction is what we can and should do.
I look forward to all your interviews. I wonder about that one man who heard the lottery numbers in his head until he told his cousin about it who told him they could be lottery numbers... This all ties in with quantum physics and everything we can't see yet feel...
A chef for four U.S. Presidents, he totally hit the lottery more than 5 times, sometimes winning doesn’t just come in a financial state, it can come in great experiences like this. Bless you Mendoza and Tim for sharing this 🙏🏿 Thank You guys

This interview was so inspiring I hope god will bless Roberto with more huge lottery winnings and when it happens to me I hope to work with this man I would buy lots of land and build a farm to grow, raise food where people could live off the land it could have a farmers market too to help raise more money to keep this place going.

For the man thats doing the interview I notice in most of your interviews you say it could have just been a coincidence that you won the lottery but u had a dream before winning and a good feeling before winning I strongly believe that was so much more than a coincidence our Heavenly Father blessed you with those winnings. I think its an awesome thing that you're doing as far as interviewing lottery winners keep doing what you're doing but as far as your blessing I notice you say coincidence a lot. Not saying someone can't win by coincidence but not everyone receives it in a dream first that has to be more than a coincidence but thank you for sharing these amazing testimonies and may God continue to bless you and use you! This week someone from Winnipeg, my home town won $60 million, largest in the cities history. I had a strong belief it was me as things seemed to be falling into place. I’ll keep playing with my strong beliefs and feelings towards winning. I feel I’m extremely close.
