  • With the Berlingo needing a rear axle I thought I would treat myself to another ugly but super practical daily driver while I fixed the Berlingo.
    In this video I show you my 2009 Peugeot 807 2.2HDi Auto Norwest 7 seater. An amazing car for the money :)

    10 years ago I was looking for a big car with 7 seats. I have done a test drive of 807 2.0 hdi of 2009. It was like driving a company bus. It did not feel great. I asked the seller to let me think about it. Within few weeks I did have testdrive in a Ford Galaxy 2009 2.0 tdci (with the same engine as the 807). The Ford was driving and feeling much better. It was a huge car, but it felt like driving the Mondeo. I skipped the 807 hdi and took the galaxy. Drove about 300.000 km's with the Galaxy. It was a great strong and reliable car with huge space.

    I bought this car 10 years ago. 2L HDI MAN 6 speed. We have 3 kids and dog. Amazing car and I am never going to sell. All it needs is good oil a standard service. Never had any serious issues. Very comfy for long trips. Simple and good car.

    Fair play getting the upgrade mate especially with all the additional issues with the Berlingo. Anything to make your life easier especially mate. Best of all mate it’s got air con!!! Happy motoring fella and keep up the content!

    Very good car for the money. I have 3 of them. Some minor electrical problems and parking break/rear brakes overall are a weak point and needs attention, but no big deal. Some servicing under the hood is pain in the ass due to engine location and almost no space around it.
    Lots of space and nice runner on longer trips.
    The area where I live in northern Europe, these costs almost nothing. You get a good example for around 1000-1500 euros and even cheaper, so it is truly a bargain for a family car

    My Grandad just got rid of his same model 2009 diesel done 74,000 miles! Nothing wrong on it but the road tax is a killer on it. Shame as he loved it and was a very comfortable car for long distances.

    Very nice. I've been looking at getting a jumpy or a jumper for a parttime/weekend getaway camper but this 807 looks like it would be a good option too

      Its still going strong. Try and stay away from the 2.2hdi as they are hard to get second hand parts for and new parts are very expensive. Just had to change the cat converter and dpf on this car as it had rotten and collapsed 😞

    DPF is probably down to not much use, with the lockdowns etc.. So a good run up the motorway should hopefully get it hot enough, to then regenerate an clean itself out. I used to work at a Fiat dealer, an the equivalent Ulysses did have there problems. But with the age of the car, hopefully the niggly bits will have been sorted long ago. So hope it goes well for you, and nice to see something a bit different!

      I used to remove the FAP filter and ERG valve on my car, I have no problem with the technical inspection because I live in BiH, so they are not a problem of the Euro norm.

    Totally get where you are coming from with the belingo, one of those warning lights that came on, is it the DPF? Maybe had too many short journeys and needs a run. Dont know much about these Peugeot people carriers. Certainly got all the kit. Good luck with it

    Enjoyed the video, have been looking for one for my family of six, sadly our old previa has given up the ghost, I think the 807 has the best seating for the rear with the best boot space remaining, I found your video very helpful in my choosing of the next family holiday bus ,all the best.

    These do have their issues - but this is a very late spec model which were much better built than the earlier cars. They are pretty heavy on the front suspension so keep an eye on the balljoints - and as you've said those rear doors can have a mind of their own. Wise to get the cambelt done sooner than later - but the later engines aren't as prone to sudden breakage as the earlier models - if there is still some semblance of padding on the drivers side lower drivers seat squab you've found a good one!

    • @projectfearn
      @projectfearn  3 роки тому +3

      Hi pal. Every car needs money spending on it, most people go wrong buy using all their budget to buy the car and then have no money to fix it should problems arise. I had a budget for a new daily driver so I bought the best one I could and have put it in to a main dealer to have all the issues fixed I found when looking at it along with some preventative maintenance. I will get the car back with all issues rectified with the cost of the car and repairs within the original budget I had in mind 😎 as for unfinished projects I don't really get this comment as all projects are unfinished until the day they are actually finished. There are no deadlines to them, that makes this hobby unenjoyable. 😎
