Hi, I´m from Spain and I would like to let you know that your tutorials are really good and I´m learning a lot from them. Thanks a lot, I wish some teachers at uni were as good as you are!!
This may just be a preference, but IMO the custom scale option is for views that do not carry the same scale as the rest of the drawing. Instead, before you insert your general view, set the scale of your drawing. You can do this by selecting the dimmed scale option at bottom of drawing window. Mine also shows type, name and size the drawing is. Double clicking this will allow you to set what you want the scale of your drawing to be.
I like the 12 o'clock, 9 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and ending at 3 o'clock for the detailed view creation. How do you keep the detailed view but change the location of where the detail is called out?
Great tutorials. Do you have any tutorial for detailing of electrical components say cable assembly or connectors. Truly appreciate your help here and would like to get a reply. Thanks
Your tutorials are excellent. If you add the location of the lab files to the web you will be the only place to go on the web to learn CAD as the vendor's tutorials are rubbish compared with yours. Great work!
Hello! I download all the files from the site for Ex.5-6, but i can't open them beacause its show me that is education version not compatible with my creo.2.0. Can i make section view at diffrent point where i choose?
Sometimes when I click dimension and then click once or twice on the edge of a circle and then middle click it will come up with the radius or diameter but then other times it won't work and I can't get it to dimension. There is a Menu Manager that comes up and I have tried all of the selections: On Entity, On Surface, Midpoint, Center, Intersection, and Make Line. Why won't it display the radius or diameter?
papi chulo There is a dtl option called: radial_pattern_axis_circle that should be set to yes (default is no*). When you show the axes (assuming that the holes were patterned about a common central axis) of a set of holes in a view where the holes are normal to the view, the axes will show with their tips pointing to their common center axis with a bolt circle (centerline font = line-dot-line) passing through the centers of the (circular) patterned holes.
Shouldn't the Detail View be named B (other than A) so as to not "conflict" with the named Section View A-A? If you select the Detail View and use the right mouse button (RMB), within a GUI, you may rename the view from A to another letter (and typically do not use letters: I, O, Q, S, X or Z).
I have a strange question. In my Creo 2.0 Drawing Window, whenever I add dimensions with decimal places, they appear as commas. How do I change this preference? I see that yours are periods.
That is a "localization" setting. Probably found in the drawing settings/options. I don't have Creo loaded on this computer so I can't find it for you right now. When I get back to the office after the holiday I'll try and find it.
Also i want hidden lines are like dotted(centerline).i tried all my best but i cant figure it out...its what my problem & am stuck here to complete drafting. Thankyou
Dear sir i am using creo-3. i have a probelam to create 2d drg.when i convert 3d model in 2d drg in detail view radius geometry or surfaces show in detail drg. i want to hide radius surface only radius should be visible in 2d drg help me
+Muddasar Mehmood: In Drw file-Select the Projected view, right click, properties, go to view display tab. Tangent Edges display style: dimmed or select none this will solve ur question I hope.
does anybody knows why my center marks and centerlines are not visible in all the drawing views basically for the cylindrical objects. seriously this software is not at all user friendly taking more time to find the option and a simple job is time taking.
You need to go to the annotations tab, then select the view you want to see the center mark in. Then select "show model items" icon (flashlight). Then select the datum tab on the top of the menu. There you will see all the center marks, select which you want and hit OK
people reluctant to a change. oh well. if you cant change the world, change yourself. or in that case change to Solidworks. its a lot faster than solidworks I give it that. very important point too.

Hi, according to engineering drawing books, on any projected view, all holes should have their line-dot-line reference, how do I do that ?
